Same ❤️
My name is my identity. Being born and raised in the states my parents wanted to keep my families history by giving me a traditional name. Growing up I was asked all the time why I never got an American name and now that I look back I don’t think I’d ever want to have it any other way. There is no American name that will ever feel like me.
I can understand how he feels… As an immigrant child i remember that people in my new hometown had difficulties with the pronounciation of my name. I never let them change my name at school and learned them how to call me right. Even if i didn’t chose it my name is a part of my identity and I’m proud of it. Integration is a must, but assimilation is another story… Not for me.
