/ hegshot87 Daniel Defense has been known for many years as making high quality ARs and PDW but new for 2024 is the Daniel Defense H9. This is their first pistol and while it has a lot of unique features, does it push the bar for striker fired pistols or just another in a crowded market?

    This is actually a perfect example of “just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s great”! It’s a clunker.

    If only they would send me my optics plate. Have a warning on their website that says “due to high demand please allow up to 60 days for your order to ship.” You mean I just spent $1300 on a gun and now need to wait two months to mount a red dot on it? Absolutely abysmal execution in that regard

    Midwest shooting sports in south west Ohio just south of Lima has one for rent for $20. It’s a great chance to see the clunker in person and judge for yourself.

    I played with one of these last weekend… it’s a Clunker.. they didn’t even design it, it’s a sold off “Hudson 9” which went over like a lead balloon or high point.. smooth is not a term that should be used in all categories of this pistol & even though I’m not a 1911 guy but own several, the comparison isn’t even in the ball park in my opinion unless your going off of strictly weight and replaceable grips.. I would highly think twice on this one considering you can get a lot of really cool stuff for $1300..

    Optic plate isn’t really free, it’s already factored into the price of the gun. I’m hoping they come out with a steel frame version.

    Is the trigger adjustable? Seems to be the biggest complaint from people. Some of them are coming in at over 8lbs. Otherwise they seem very accurate and very ergonomic. Well built.

    I’ve got several videos with the issues with mine. My trigger was over the spec weight and had terrible creep. They fixed that…and then I found other issues. DD still has my H9 on its second trip for warranty service.

    Mine has ran flawlessly and really grown on me. Love 1911s but not the capacity this solved that. Now i have a concealable slim 1911 grip pistol that holds 15+1 and to top it off shoots like a full size. The low bore axis makes it handle like a cz and its very fast accurate and controllable. Looking forward to what you think after shooting it. The ones with issues ive been asking around and had 2 people with serial numbers in the 3000s

    Mine has issues. I’m in the 3000 serial numbers. I’ve got the issues demonstrated in videos on my channel. I’m interested to learn more about the serial number ranges and issues. I’ve got keyholing, I had a trigger that was over the spec pull weight, my guide rod walks after slide manipulation…

    First off might you say you can pass as a Kelce brother / Ben Aflick. Anyway I agree with this gun. I’m a 1911 guy and a DD fan ban. My first thought was it resembles a 1911. I’ve never handled or seen a Hudson H9 before this came out. I don’t the companies like Glock, Sig, etc will suffer. The price point on this is high yes. I own a M18 that I’m not happy with. But I own two DD guns. A rifle and ar pistol. They are quality made. DD warranty and customer service is fantastic. But great video I liked it. Two thumbs up

    I think it is a very nice gun, good shooter, heavy trigger break, flat shooting gun... It is not, IMHO, a game changer... I believe it is a fantastic $7-800 pistol... Maybe $1000. We'll see how it does...

    U don’t seem to be well versed in pistols, this is first bottom hinged striker trigger I’m aware of and its super fast, when A/M catches up with a lighter striker spring then U get your 3 lbs pull. This is a superb pistol that you shouldsave your dislikes until you shoot it

    DD didn’t make it from scratch. They bought Hudson firearms which made the H9 and reissued the H9 under the Daniel Defense umbrella.

  • @williamwoodcock8487

    @williamwoodcock8487

    Not quite. They bought the IP (intellectual property) for the H9 from Hudson but did not buy the company. And while this is based on the design of the Hudson, it is an entirely redesigned pistol. It only shares one part that has commonality with the original, and that’s the sear block spring.
