The one producer, one emcee arrangement was the norm for most rap albums in the 80s and 90s before Nas made Illmatic and changed the game with the "roster of producers for one album" thing.

The release timing is crazy for sure. But aside from that it’s practically bound to happen. If you find a dope sample and loop it, of course someone else will find it sooner or later and have the same idea

If they had both chopped a sample the same way then it’s be mindblowing. I don’t know the original sample so hey maybe they did both chop it that way. But I doubt it, it sounds like a straight loop with a couple other samples put on top
