Dandelion Bloom Macro Honey Bees April 25th Do NOT remove dandelions ASMR in slow motion.

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

April 25th and Honey Bees as well as solitary bees are on dandelion blossoms. This video features macro close up sequences of honey bees, one solitary bee, and dandelion blossoms.
Slow-Motion, all audio is unaltered other than slowed to 20% of normal time.
Chickens, wild birds, chain saws, insects flying, all provide an eerie soundscape.
Not the best quality pollen, but dandelions bloom at a time when honey bees need all they can scrounge up.
Dandelions provide pollen and nectar for early build up.
KEY MOMENT, when dandelions bloom in abundance, it's time to make sure your honey bee hives have room to grow.
They can gain weight at an impressive weight with warming days and multiple pollen and nectar sources coming available.
I hope you enjoyed this macro pollinator nature moment.

This video is amazing!!! Never before have I been able to closely and carefully observe the behavior of a worker honey bee on a dandelion flower. It provides the best-I've-ever-seen video that shows how a worker uses the brushes on the insides of her forelegs and mid legs to clean pollen grains off her eyes, and how she transfers this pollen to her hindlegs and ultimately to her pollen baskets. I also like how this video includes a tiny solitary bee; shows how our familiar worker honey bees are relatively huge bees. The sounds in "slow-motion" are fascinating, too.

I have stopped all herbicides in my lawn and have the Clover, Henbit and Dandelions grow. The HOA and neighbors love me. Great video.

Beautiful footage and insight! I didn't think I'd be this captivated by a bee getting some pollen, but this almost feels like I went outside and crouched in the grass to watch for a little while.

Wow these shots are like National Geographic! I always leave my Dandelions and wish my neighbors would to, I think the yellow blanket on green grass is gorgeous. I dont think people are educated about the bare green grass being Bee deserts when it comes to food for bees. Unfortunately my 2 hives died this year from a very fast cold drop in temperature here in Canada. We had a +15 degree Celsius day and then the very next day it went to - 20 Celsius within 2 hours and they never got to make it back to cluster in time after breaking cluster. It was sad. Lots of food, no moisture issues. I just unwrapped to early because the weather was warm and then boom the cold snap. Next time I am not unwrapping until I know fully no cold snaps like that will come, learning from mistakes. Just an update over here :) Ill be getting a nuc or 2 next year and have to have an unwanted break this year. I guess ill be focusing a lot on my gardening this year. Thank you for sharing these wonderful shots Fred.

Great videography! I love the slow motion sound effects, I makes you wonder if that wasn't what was being heard during the early evolutionary period when things were just starting out and sound first started being used as an attractant before things evolved to what they are today.

I like that a bee flying in slow motion sounds like a small diesel motor. What are all the other sounds that sound like the Amazon rainforest or something?

  • @FrederickDunn

Those are all normal sounds in the environment. They have that prehistoric feel as it's all slowed to 20% normal speed. I really enjoy hearing song birds at that low modulation myself :)

Southern New Brunswick, Canada. Minus 6 C last night! we've had colts foot, Alder and pussy willow since April 1st. The red maple buds are cracking open, they might flower next week I think dandy lion will start in 2 weeks with a major bloom in 3 weeks. Very nice video.

Hi Fred, looking forward to first week in Jan already. I'd like to hear your thoughts on Randy Oliver's latest study in ABJ. Most of your audience including myself spend their first years learning from UTubers. Seeing many of them "lobbied with free goods" passively promoting Pro-biotics. It's always good and bad when snake oil salesman are exposed.

Wow, I have not seen that yet. I thought Randy was in favor of supplements as he promoted various patties? I'll look for that. Thanks.

@@FrederickDunn Just received it today. Was excited, felt like the lone dissenter at the wagon that pulled into town at the conventions. Take away: "Probiotics, in theory and concept, are a promising solution to enhance bee health, but the current market available products for beekeepers are making claims that far outreach the ability of their products."
