Mikiko Mizuno is the choreographer she is also responsible for the Tokyo Olympics open ceremony. Perfume started in Actors school Hiroshima along with Mikiko, also Su metal from Babymetal also came from ASH. Mikiko went to Sakura Gakuin and also worked with Babymetal. Plenty of good Perfume on KZread, could try the song flash music video. But they also put on some great live shows.

I'm arriving very late to this, but I looked through the comments and I'll add two more things. First is that Perfume wears high heels with a slender heel/"top piece", that's part of their style (elegant, leggy) along with their futuristic techno-pop vibe, and so you'll find their dance reflects that. They can only be so dynamic for large movements and travel; most of the focus is on the upper body and overall on positions. Second is that Mikiko has said she likes to draw on everyday movements to incorporate into the choreography, and you can see that to varying degrees in the gestures she builds in.

I've gone back through your videos and it's good to find this first one of you seeing Perfume. It's interesting to see your comments go from 'ok, this is cute and easy' to 'wow, there are a LOT of steps!' as they throw in head movements and hand gestures (with a mic in the other hand), all while lip-synching and wearing heels. The intricacies involved in their routines are incredible and I'm glad you've carried on following them.

i love this song! the choreography is very lighthearted and cute, just like the song. the first lyric is "hey let me tell you a secret, you can do whatever you'd like. i know you'd like it too, we all have our own special seats." the lyrics are very lighthearted as well, but a very important message🥰the choreo has a lot to it but i think mikiko made it look cute and lighthearted to fit the song. kind of like their "spring of life" choreography, the song is cute and so is the choreography but it's definitely not easy. their new music really highlights their talent. if you want to check out more recent concerts there's "android&" where they are literally robots😂and they have loads of more content out there for you to check. they also have a dance practice video for polygon wave on their channel :). thank you for checking this out!

Mikiko Mizuno choreographs Perfunme, and Babymetal, though she works with the two groups very differently. With Perfume, Mikiko comes up with the routine and teaches it to the ladies,, they take about 3 hours to learn the routine so it's ready for the stage. With Babymetal, the girls show Mikiko their ideas, and Mikiko takes their natural movements, and works to refine it, Takes a couple of days per song, Mikiko studied dance here in the US, and her dance troupe Elevenplay pushes the envelope in terms of marrying technology and dance.

Mikiko when she was in NYC figured out: Japanese women are not optimized for that style of dancing (body type). So she invented a Japanese style of her own. That's what you've seen with these groups now. I know some mentioned Broadway, while she had done some interpretative dance there I believe, the style she was there to really learn I think were much more modern like hip-hop style, etc. and that's the ones she said: maybe not for me or even Japanese women in general, let's try something else.

This video only captures a portion of what Perfume is. Let me preference it by saying I am not necessarily a Perfume fan. I respect Perfume because their Arena shows are legendary, largely designed by their choreographer Mikiko. I don't own a single Perfume album or Blu-Ray but I would not hesitate to travel long distance to see them live. This particular video does not really cover what Perfume is most known for, which is a merger of technology and dance, or rather utilizing technology within the choreography, or choreographing the technology. if that makes sense. Examples of this would be the following videos. Perfume - STORY (1080p Live, Subtitled, 2015) Perfume "FUSION"&"edge" from Reframe Tour 2021 Cannes Moments: Perfume's Amazing Digital Light Show at Cannes Lions Perfume LIVE 2021 [polygon wave] August 14,15 at PIA ARENA MM【For J-LOD LIVE】 Perfume ☬Party Maker HD☫ Level 3 Tour Perfume - DISPLAY (4K Live, Subtitled, 2019) Perfume LEVEL3 - Projection mapping live performance Then I guess you have what would best be defined as just showing off, when they did a live performance with each of the girls in a different city. One in Tokyo, one in New York, and one in London. Keep in mind this was live. It's not after-the-fact digitally modified. It's live digital modification during live performances by each of the three girls in different cities. [docomo × Perfume] - Fusion (WabiSabi House Remake) (Bootleg Edit Video) But don't think they are limited to Arenas. They are able to scale these things down to small venues, such as their performance at SXSW in Austin Texas a few years ago. As Choreographer I would expect you to find this fascinating. I just find it amazing. Perfume Live at SXSW | STORY (SXSW-MIX) An under looked aspect of groups like Perfume and Babymetal? They cause old farts like me to stop and notice the artistry of dance. Babymetal, for example, does not just introduce metal to pop fans, or pop to metal fans. They introduced the artistry of dance to both of them. I get tired of Metal heads

You'll see a difference between K-pop and J-pop performances; very generally K-pop tends to be more regimented and synchronized than J-pop - more produced. Don't get hung up on japan having a particular style. There are some Kabuki, traditional and martial arts influences, but Japan is great at incorporating "foreign" components into anything they do and producing something with a certain Japanese flair and flavour. This is more from Amuse's in house chroreographer Mikiko Mizuno. She says that she's been influenced by Fosse and I think you can see that in some of the body shapes; things like the curved backs and the knees pulled together and the hands. There might be a lot of movements, but it's obviously physically/technically simple and reminds me of voguing more than anything else. She describes it as dance for non-dancers. When she does choreography for Perfume, Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal she's working within Amuse's brief and to the various dance skills of the performers. If you want to see Mizuno's more technical work check out her own dance project "Elevenplay". You'll get a bit more technical dancing in Babymetal and even Sakura Gakuin, but it's not going to push any boundaries. So take a look at Babymetal "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan" to see what Mizuno can do on a big stage, "Megitsune" has some interesting dance, Sakura Gakuin "Animal Magic" and for a bit of boundary pushing the choreo of Atarashii Gakko in "Night Before the Exam, Single Take Performance".

Take a look at Endlessly - Elize Ryd Elize isn't the dancer, she's the singer, but she is an accomplished dancer in her own right. It's a beautiful song, with amazing choreography. I've never seen anything quite like it.

@@xiaouiris Yes, it has parts of 5 or 6 of their songs and dance routines taken from videos and live performances. The edit is done quite well. It's 15 mins long so maybe a bit too much for a reaction, but you will see what AG is about and then you can choose an individual song to do a reaction. For me "Night Before the Exam, single take performance" is an interesting video and shows the dynamism of AG.
