The dancing man in the mask is Fyodor Basmanov, oprichnik, favorite and lover of Ivan the Terrible. Ivan the Terrible organized riotous feasts for his chosen oprichniks. The oprichniks are his personal warriors who obeyed his every order and did wild things. Fyodor sings a song about the murder and plunder of a noble family, whom the King considered “traitors” and the burning of their estate. Burn-burn-burn, they sing in the chorus.

Historians do not had ANY real proofs, that Ivan IV and Basmanov actually had sexual relationships. Besides, Ivan IV was pretty devout orthodox christian, and it is VERY doubtful, that Ivan IV, who knew Bible very well, was so acceptive to the sin of sodomy. Besides, majority of sources about bad and scary Ivan is just a direct propaganda from Poland, because Ivan was in war with it. BTW, what is really funny, that same Poland, which screamed about Ivan "madness", in 1572 after death of king Sigismund, Polish nobility INVITED Ivan IV for kings elections as candidate. Besides, majority of boyars were real traitors. Scientists maked chemical analyse of the skeletons of the Ivan's mother and wife, and find really high level of mercury, and it is a really reliable proof, that they are were poisoned. Besides, entire Novgorod nobility wrote letters to the Polish king about secession from Russia during the war. WITH THEIR SIGNATURES ON THE PAPER LOL. And finally, oprichniks were not "secret police" or other specific political tool for punishment, it was just an regular army of the kings part of the country. Yeap, sometime they are fought against internal rebels, but it was role of the army for all kings in Europe during those century
