DANCE OF THE FLUTES / MIRLITONS / MARZIPAN - NUTCRACKER BALLET - Beginner Pointe | natalie danza

NUTCRACKER VARIATION! Dance of the flutes / reeds / mirlitons / marzipan... known by so many names!
I've created a simple, elegant choreography for dancers with some experience dancing on pointe but who are not yet able to dance the repertoire variations. This variation repeats everything on both sides so it's easy to learn and remember!
IMPORTANT - Do NOT attempt this variation unless you have good technique on pointe in centre work as well as barre work.
Soft ballet shoe version coming soon!

Yep! And this is just a very basic pointe combination! It's also far harder than it looks! Even hops on one leg across the room are SO difficult.

Hi Natalie! I recently found your account on Instagram (for World Ballet Day!) and just wanted to say thank you for creating and sharing these beautiful variations with us! 😊 You are such a gorgeous ballet dancer to watch! I have been out of dance for so many years, plus I am recovering from chronic and adrenal fatigue. I've lost a lot of my strength and balance over time, so being able to follow along with a variation that is slower and less exhausting is much appreciated! I am working on learning this to record a video, and I will tag you once it's done! :) Thank you again for all of these videos! 💖💖💖

@Natalie Danza This move is too hard for me as a beginner (just coming off the barre) but I want so much to work up to it. Any specific exercises at the barre or in the center that you would recommend? I try to do single leg releves and eleves en pointe at the barre daily. And thank you SO much for these beginner pointe variations. I have been working on the Arabian for several days now. They are just challenging enough without crushing my spirit!

FWIW, I've never heard it referred to as "dance of the flutes" in English, it's always "dance of the reed pipes", I don't know any russian, or which languages it was first translated to, but it's my guess that reed pipes is most accurate but that accuracy might be lost in translation to other languages.

In Russia, it's the Dance of the (little) Shepherds (танец пастушков), like this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4J82ralYqWamJc.html I guess it depends on staging.
