i feel like ashley was justified. it’s just like when abby told christi to fix chloe’s eye. i get that it’s her job to critique presley’s dancing but it is NOT her job nor does she have the RIGHT to body shame the dancers.

This is dance! Has nothing to do with body shaming, a new term, which folks who are easily offended made up.🤣Your body MUST move perfectly. Period. If it can’t, you get kicked out, that’s a dancers life. That’s why good dancers are disciplined and can take constructive criticism. That’s what they are there for...❤️

She over reacted, as much as I understand her mom being upset. But to embarrass and upset her daughter and make her cry in front of the rest of the kids like that and drag her out of there like a 5 year old wasn’t the way to handle it.

I think she overreacted because honestly what Abby wanted was Presley to win, the type of dance she has, the style of dance she has, requires a lot of technique, which we all know that she's just not very talented on that... So what is Abby going to do? She's just going to let her go out on stage and dance with sickled foot or bent knees?? Or she's going to try to make the judges focus on her facial expressions or other special things that she has???

@@aran125 it's not body shaming, she wanted her to win!! She was rooting for Presley to win, she only did that because Presley's legs are not good enough so she just wanted the judges to focus on something else.

Coming from a dancer, body image is one of the hardest things on dance. They will pick the skinnier prettier girl over the one that has muscle because of other sports. I can tell Presley is having to deal with this and it makes me heartbroken.

this is not critiquing, this is body shaming

Abby will never have another team like her old one though. They were more unique in terms of personality and diverse. The kid that really shines to me is lily. Abby should hire more Asian and black kids. Add more flavor. This season turns me off because it doesn't include other ethnicities. I like Gianina's persistence to try harder and do better. Abby keeps on punching that kid.

Poor Presley she doesn't deserve it at all

I think Abby saw it looked like her knee wasn’t straight, but really it’s just the shape of her legs. Abby must’ve said that her legs are shaped that was so it looked like she didn’t straighten her knee, Presley might’ve misinterpreted that. And then it probably all lead to Abby saying that she needs to cover up the fact that her legs look like they don’t straighten because judges might think she just doesn’t straighten her legs.

LMAO- Ashley reminds me so much of Kelly from the previous seasons. Like that scene when abby threw the Chair at Paige, Kelly got upset, and they all ended up leaving. This was almost the exact same thing that happened here, but a different scenario.

Ok some of their conversation must have been cut out because in this clip Abby was just critiquing Pressley. The whole body shaming part is messed up but in this clip Ashley got mad for not really anything because it was actually just Abby giving her kid corrections. I just feel like we’re missing some content and if not I don’t see why Ashley brought up the whole bathroom thing.

Ashley reminds me of Kira from seasons 4-7. For a couple of reasons • They both look like a Mom that doesn't care about her kid even though they do • They both know how to shut people up in a fight • They are both very defensive of their kid

Was it just me or did anyone else see that Lily was looking at Pressley worried when Ashley was saying that Pressley was crying saying my body is my body? If you watch dance moms closely you see that most of the kids aren't brats the producers just edit the show to make it look like they are to create drama!

As a dance teacher you point out corrections, and tell your student ways to improve herself. You don’t say to her that her body is wrong, that she’s a mess or that her hair is ugly, you don’t use those words even if that’s what you mean. This pretty girl was crying in the bathroom doing something NO ONE in this world should do... wishing to be someone else, wishing to have a different body. All of that because of this stupid show, I’d love parents to understand that no amount of fame or money is worth risking your kid’s confidence. Those comments hurt for a lifetime.
