Jon said this is probably the top song he doesn't want to perform live again. Lol I bet for him, hearing it again is like when you find some old poetry you wrote in middle school. 😂

I'd also say that he wouldn't wanna perform live because of how much strain it would be on his voice for how long it is of just purely his vocals lol

It's not exactly a badly written song it definitely has some teenage angst but there are some good ideas the ending kinda feels like slam poetry I think there is a sense of irony and self awareness that yes it's cringe but the attitude is the point it's self aware how obtuse and cringe the attitude represented in the song is

This was one of the first songs I heard by DGD. My buddy in freshman year of highschool had it playing on his ipod and I was immediately intrigued.

Definitely good lyrics! Not too fond of the song itself, though I think it did what it set out to do. The song kinda feels like the five stages of grief, the first part being denial, anger, and bargaining, with the second part being depression and acceptance. Not gonna say it's necessarily a perfect fit, and I honestly don't feel like doing a full on analysis of the lyrics, but it does seem like it's at least going for something in that direction. With two parts with such drastically different tones, it also makes the song kinda hard to passively listen to. I can imagine it probably not going into playlists as much as many of their other songs. And it has nothing to do with how good it is, just that it just shifts the tone from high energy, intense, heavy, angry, punk/metal to extremely low energy, emotional, sad, lounge music. And each part is basically the length of a slightly long song. But sometimes you don't want a song that's an easy listen! Sometimes you want a song that says something, both through its lyrics and the musicianship. And I think this one exactly does that.
