August 6th by mewithoutYou features the awesome line “does it feel wrong to say a thought metastasize?”. Aaron, their vocalist, is a freaking literature genius who writes the best lyrics I know. His are so freaking deep and rich of references that you need an analysis to understand what he means; but when you get it, it all cones together soooooo well.

It's so different, and fresh. I love how DGD is able to swing the mood, like at 2:17. Seriously, every song they make is a rollercoaster ride.

That's will swan their guitarist, the same guy who rapped on happiness and DTBM2.

i love how they make a new sound with their old sounds. Will's rap, Jon's incomprehensible screaming fit, and the classic smooth clean vocals

7 years ago.. what the hell. This was the video that got me into DGD. What a ride.

When he sings "So what I'll die alone" it hits me so hard, you can hear the emotion in his voice. Almost puts me on the verge of tears.

It forces an individual to align onto the grid. 2:08, the pressure built insanity(muffled screaming effect), finally the clean vocals arise, The acceptance speech. Anyone else feel like they're going to cry as soon as Tilian starts to sing "I'm the one, I'm the one..." This song is just so much. It's beyond explaining.

Tilian is killin' it. The anticipation for this album.. man.

This used to be my least DGD song, but after a few more listens, it's another beautiful creation that I can enjoy along with DGD's other masterpieces. ^-^

Let's be honest, guys. DGD always has a new line up (usually the vocalist changes) for every new album they come out with and they're still always fucking awesome with their new unique vocalists. Give Acceptance Speech a chance, the band as a whole has always released awesome songs.

Each singer brings out something new in this band. That's one of the reasons I love them so much. So much adaptability.

We've also only heard two of the songs from the album so far, listen to him live and he kills literally every song they do. It's incredible.

This will forever be one of my favorite songs from DGD.

In my opinion, the best way to describe Tilian's voice is addictive. You'll find yourself second guessing it at first, but then begin to hum along with his parts with the third or fourth listen. Kinda tough to judge an entire cd with one listen and reading KZread comments.

TBH, I never liked Tilian in the beginning. Mostly because I couldn't wrap my head around how different the vocal style was from Jonny & Kurt; DGD sounded like a new band. It might not be the old stuff I fell in love with, but I'm starting to really like Tilian on clean vocals. Horay for Jon Mess tho. He was always the best. I guess I'm like Will Swan and Matt Mingus, I'm adapting to the vocalist. They're totally the glue that holds DGD together.

Tilian is the most polarizing part about this band as well. Whomever I show them to, they always comment on the vocals. "Too high" or "Wow this guy is great" constantly. It took me some getting used to his high, but weirdly gravelly sound as well - it's indeed tough to wrap your head around, I've never heard a voice like his before. After a year or so of consistently listening to them though, it clicked and now it just love him in the band and wouldn't wanna miss him.

So excited for this album!

I can't express how much I need this album.

Happened to me too. I didn't like any of the singers until Tilian came in. I feel like him and Mess have waaaay better lyrical chemistry than Mess did with any of the others - he sounds more in sync with Tilian. You can't deny the fact that their success has skyrocketed since he joined, especially with Mothership's release.

Not since Sufferer and the Witness. Tim changed his vocal style and pretty much everyone agrees they kind of went to shit after that. It's like when Papa Roach's vocalist switched over to straight pop-like singing... yeah, they both still release albums and make money but their prevalence and popularity took a nose dive pretty swiftly.

I just got into this band, and I hated them before. My friends would listen to it and all I would hear when they played it was the jumbled up jazz messes or whatever in some of their songs, and the screaming, terrible screaming. Recently I heard a few full songs and I have to say, Tilian has an incredible voice. It changed my opinion on this band completely. I even went back and listened to some of their older stuff. Tilian in my opinion is probably their best thing that ever happened to this band. A personal thought from me though, this band would sound SO much better if they just dropped the other vocalist. Just Tilian's clean vocals throughout their music, and I could listen to it all day every day. JUST A THOUGHT THOUGH, DON'T GO GET BUTTHURT OVER IT.
