Dance as protest; say their names-see their names-feel their names | NW Tap Connection | TEDxSeattle
Using a combination of live performance and their viral-sensation video of the protest dance “Hell You Talmbout”, these Northwest Tap Connection students work to heighten awareness about black individuals killed by police. Movement is power and these young people have the power to move us all. Northwest Tap Connection inspires and teaches youth from underserved communities to comment on social issues through the physical expression of dance. This race and social-justice oriented studio aims to enrich young people’s lives through dance, thereby encouraging self-confidence, self-discipline, achievement, and goal-setting. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

So much talent here and it could be used for so much more than fear mongering and glorifying subjects that they don't know the entire story on..

Education is the basis of empathy. It is completely and utterly reprehensive that capitalism strips of us our empathy, calling our greatest strength "weak" because they know the power it truly holds.
5:22 'You are divine"? Excuse me?
This should not be applauded. They are afraid. They rather dance than fight. Mother Harriet Tubman, Father Malcolm X, Son Emmitt Till, and Daughters Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Carol Denise McNair would never have been dancing. These people seek entertainment to get away from the fear within them. Behind their smiles, they tremble. The enemy wipes the sweat from their brow every time they see the weakness of people like this. Don't dance, just move out of the way. If these people knew who they really were they would not be dancing.
