Danae Hays Intimate & Hilarious | I'm Fine It's Fine Podcast w/ Amber Autry and Melanie Reese

Comedian and singer Danae Hays was the perfect guest for the one year anniversary show of I'm Fine It's Fine Podcast. Recorded live at Trauma Therapy Nashville's office with JB Somers returning to play his music, it was a beautiful night.
Danae shared the unfiltered story of her life with hosts Amber Autry and Melanie Reese. Growing up in a home where her identity wasn't embraced, she opens up about the struggles, including encounters with Christian therapists arranged by her parents and how that further confused her for years of childhood and lead to severe anxiety and OCD. Mixed with funny retellings of her career in real estate and making her way to becoming an amazing performer, she's now skyrocketing to success.
Danae speaks about the profound impact of her wife's love and patience. This episode is not just laughs and anecdotes but a genuine exploration of self-love and authenticity. Danae Hays lays bare her journey, reminding us all that embracing who we are is a triumph worth celebrating. Of course there was crying.

As someone who pretty much lived a parallel life to Danae, thank you for this podcast. Because of this episode, I'm going to continue to work on healing my inner-child who experienced much of what she did. I've truly never felt so seen or understood. I grew up knowing I was a lesbian in a conservative Lutheran family and I experienced many of the same traumas. It's inspirational to see a success story come out of so much trauma and pain. I'm still working on regaining my health after years of chronic physical health issues and the mental health issues that tend to go hand-in-hand with living this life. I played D1 softball in the mid-90s. We didn't have anyone to relate to. We didn't see anyone like Danae in the public eye. You are saving lives with this podcast. My 18-30+ yo self, who struggled with thoughts of leaving this world because I felt like something was wrong with me, thanks you for sharing your story and vulnerability! ✌️💗🌈

This broke my heart. I can’t imagine ever losing contact with my child. Even the thought of her not talking to me guts me! I went over and hugged her and got the “you’re so weird” look.
