I was one of those people that thought Dustin couldn’t win this fight. In my heart I wanted him to win as it’s fighters like him that got me interested in UFC, just didn’t think he could do it. Dustin proved a lot of people wrong and kudos to him. I’ve given Dustin a lot of flack over the years and I won’t again. Congratulations to Dustin Poirier.

I’m so horrifically confused by what you and everyone mean. Why did you think he was not going to win? What told you that BSD was better than Dustin? Because not for one single second did I understand why he was given such a radical boost in competition after having only beaten a #14 rank and why then he was given a pretty significant betting advantage. What ended up happening was exactly what I thought would. Why then did you think otherwise? What indicated Dustin couldn’t beat BSD? Am I crazy? What am I missing here? Because my heavy guess is that you just assumed - like I think everyone did - that BSD is some elite fighter when, again, that theory has NEVER even been remotely close to being put to the test. Did everyone forget how fighting works? Because I can understand if he had laid waste to someone like Chandler right before but the difference in skill set between Matt Frevola and Dustin Poirier is akin to like a third-string QB and Joe Burrow. Night and day difference. Where this unprecedented amount of praise for BSD came from I suppose I’ll never know

I dont agree with the one fight winning streak title shot. Justin gaethje really shouldnt have took that fight with max & waited for a title shot. I seen somewhere islam saying something about dustin is next because its the only person who would be willing to fight him (dont know exactly how true that is) from that stand point it makes sense but idk still doesnt feel like the right thing to do. Ive always been a dustin fan (how could you not) but after another title fight he will lose and then retire which is why you make the right fights have your fighters build up for it then make the fight. That is a big reason why chandler hasnt got anywhere because he was given a title fight after one win. Regardless if dustin beats islam or not im pretty sure he is going to retire anyways he better make the most of it is all i have to say. It never goes in the fighters favor when handed a title shot.
