I got to watch him live every fight almost. When I seen him knock out Chris Leben I knew I just seen the greatest fighter I've ever seen I was only 12. But I was right he went on to do what he did. Nobody was on Anderson Silvas level. Not even gsp and I love gsp and Jon Jones. I think there the top three guys for sure but I would replace Usman with bj Penn. That's my opinion. Exactly. I was in high school during this time and literally lived through his era. I'd get my entire family to go to the Hooters in town so we could reserve a table for $20 and watch every single live PPV Anderson was on, on the big screens in there. We weren't a rich family and I remember even pawning off some of my videogames and shit one time just so we could go watch him live. Living through his era was unlike any other. I don't get that feeling from modern day guys. Silva had the mystique and the aura like none other and he always delivered.

It's probably someone close to him that reminded him of a favorite fighter he mentioned many times before. But besides that the Owner of the company can't just do whatever. In America with a successful company like that you have to keep the biggest shareholders happy or else your company can get hurt a lot when they decide to pull out. He also has to keep the Networks he works with happy to be able to Air UFC cards. We can be happy that they don't seem to have extreme woke policies at the current network because Dana definitely doesn't have fans with the woke networks😂

You can't only count his win streak. He lost many times before and after that streak. Jones, GSP, DJ, Nurmagomedov, and Usmar are practically almost flawless.

If khabib would have defended his title like 7 more times then maybe we'd allow him a seat at the goat table, but he didn't. Khabib will never be considered the goat in an actual MMA fans list lmaoo

How quickly people forget. I lived through Anderson's era. I watched every fight live on PPV at the Hooters across town. I ran into Cody McKenzie and Julianna Pena watching the fights too, before their names ever really got out there. It was something special. You could feel it in the air, and Anderson's process was a beauty to behold. Hearing all of the pre-fight talk on the internet and from so called experts and then seeing the results live...I remember every single Anderson fight, people would have some reason why Anderson would lose. For Vitor they said his hands were just too fast, Anderson wouldn't be able to dodge or stay away. Turns out Vitor hardly got any offense off. I remember people were absolutely convinced Maia was going to drag Silva to the floor and sub him in spectacular fashion, and by the end of it all we got was "Why didn't Anderson just put him out of his misery?" How quickly people forget. Rich Franklin was 22-1 going into his fight against Anderson. He looked unbeatable, was knocking everybody out. Stopped Ken Shamrock, Evan Tanner, Nate The Rock Quarry, David The Crow Loiseau. Rich was putting all the top guys out from his own era. Then Silva came in and literally made Rich look like an amateur that somehow found his way into a professional fight. That fight against Rich literally signaled the beginning of the Silva era. The new era of combat sports. Anderson did not lose his title until he was 37 years old, after a career lasting from 1997. There are not very many champions nearing 40 years old in the lower weight division. Silva was a seasoned veteran that was still consistently putting out young and hungry competitors. His title reign lasted 7 years. Long enough to get a Master's degree, and he only looked like he was in trouble one time, against Chael Sonnen. There wasn't a single title contender during those 7 long years that even looked like they belonged in the cage with The Spider. How quickly the people forget...

Whats special about Anderson Silva and GSP is that you could pluck them right out of their era in their prime and place them with todays fighters and they'd STILL BE CHAMPIONS. The fight game evolved because of those 2. I mean GSP was the first great all around mma fighter. Dude did absolutely everything. Wrestling, bjj, kickboxing, karate (that was his original style i believe. If not, it was TKD, but i think its karate), boxing.. the man was an absolute legend.

Dana White actually: 1) the notorious 2) Conor 3) McGregor

Dana loves Anderson remember seeing a video of him an Ariel going back-and-forth about who is pound for pound him or Fedor

And it's not Muslims, it's American fighters or those who come from wrestling towns and countries. Has nothing to do with Islam. The religion does not make good fighters. It's training, martial art type and training partners/coaches. Champions come from all backgrounds and in fact, Muslim champions from middle East are non existent in world competitions. It's America and what type of training America offers with exceptions to Dagestan which is old Soviet Union.

I think Dana is just mad he retired and started his own promotion but nobody can argue that khabib is the most dominant fighter of all time. I mean he never bled nor lost a fight… Everyone else on that list did I think he’s top 3 but it’s my opinion
