Dan and Serena will forever be the people who will always end up together. they are the people that in the end should and will come back to be one whole again. that's how it should be, all other GG couples and characters aside they are the perfect match and have been since episode 1!!

I love the part when Serena says this to Dan in 5x05: I KNOW THIS MAY SOUND CRAZY OR SELFISH OR LIKE I’M LIVING IN THE PAST OR SOMETHING BUT YOU WERE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE DAN I DON’T KNOW I GUESS I JUST THOUGHT THAT I WAS YOURS TOO That’s one of my favourite things about them when they are expressing how they feel about each other or how they used to feel about each other this was one of my favourite moments with them when she finally expressed to him how she felt about him in the past and what she still feels about him.

I am so happy that Dan and Serena are gonna end up together, I love Chuck and Blair but Dan and Serena were my favourite tv couple since the beggining of the show and they are the true love in gg!

Dan gets a lot of hate but Serena was nowhere near perfect. But people often overlook that because she's beautiful and rich. But her and Blair ruined lives and got away with it just because they were rich and popular. While Dan may be immature at times, I feel like he truly cares about other people and would never knowingly hurt someone else

DreamerInHeaven they totally did butcher his character, but Serena's like the most unreliable girlfriend. Just look at the amount of times she left Nate hanging in the wind. It's like she knows the guys that she dates, she has them wrapped around her finger so she takes total advantage of that. But like someone else said people look past all of this just because she's tall and blond and THE Serena van der woodsen. She doesn't deserve most of the guys she got but she's just lucky almost anyone would be willing to bend over backwards for a tall stereotypically pretty blond chic with a trust fund big enough to buy an island.

Serena is horrible, yes both serena and Blair ruined lives, but Blair often paid the price (not immediately but for the worst things she did), Serena literally had nothing bad happen to her except for losing some boyfriends.

Honestly I don’t mind how Dan treated Serena in season 5 as in the previous season Serena treated him terribly and left him countless amounts of times for other people; like her professor, Colin, and lead Dan on for months on end and got mad when Dan and Blair merely formed a bond. In season 5, Serena is realising and regretting how she took Dan for granted in season 4.

In the beginning I thought Dan and Serena were insufferably cute, but time changed them and in all honesty, I don't think they deserved to be with each other in the end. The two of them could never fully understand each other. They were just in love with the idea of being together. That's just my opinion.

Your words are so true! I guess I think the same even because in a break fault is fifty-fifty, of both.. so yes, Serena made her mistakes but Dan isn't a saint. As you said, he always judged her! They come from different worlds, but this has never changed their love for each other.. they are perfect, it's just not their time!

Derena is the real fairy tale of GG. Chuck and Blair is EPIC too but DERENA is my FIRST LOVE. I miss them. I'm still hoping that they'll get back together eventually even though there's a big hint that Serena is getting married to some new guy. The writers ruined a perfectly good couple. Such a shame.

Clearly you didn't watch the show @geee: "she first string him along and broke his heart by going back to Colin" Nope. Try again. Serena spent the summer with Blair deciding who she wanted & when she got home Dan told her he was with Vanessa and Nate told her he was with Juliet. Serena dated Colin because Dan & Nate had already picked other girls "and then she played that whole choosing game, the finally chooses him but them leaves him for Ben breaking his heart AGAIN" Wow. talk about not watching the show. Serena picked Dan (she ALWAYS picked Dan over others) but then she & Dan MUTUALLY decided to not be together. (Watch 4x10 again. It's the "sink or swim" speech). Only then did she date Ben. I'll never understand how any Dan fan could say they preferred him with Blair: Blair who loved Chuck not Dan (proof in words & action), left Dan FOR Chuck, never cared about or paid attention to things that bothered Dan (she'd rather help her ex boyfriend than him, she seemed to DREAD the idea of spending the summer in Rome with him,, etc.) Oh yeah that's awesome for Dan. Geez. Serena was flakey but at least she loved & cared about Dan and picked him TWICE over Nate. I think Dan and his fans are the same. They want what they can't have. Vanessa & Serena both loved Dan and he treated them terribly in the end. But Dan & his fans want him with the girl that never loved him & treated him like crap: Blair. Makes total sense. RIGHT

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Blair never cared for Dan or that she treated him like crap, but obviously she had already found the love of her life and it was Chuck. Despite this, they have a nice relationship as friends, they do care about each other. Let’s not forget how when Blair was in W she helped get Dan published and when Chuck invited Dan to the photo session of modern royalty to humiliate him Blair said “Dan may not be royal, but at least he’s not a child”. She wasn’t interested in him that way in the end, but she was a good friend.

As an opinion, I always thought that Dan and Serena is perfect for each other. People complaining about how Dan ended up being with Blair and has almost chosen Blair than Serena? No one remembers when Serena always choose to be with the wrong guy than being with Dan. Let me flashback your memory.. remember that scene with Colin? When Serena thought that Colin was not the one, he goes back to Dan, and invited him to go to linkin center fountain together.. then Colin showed up again saying he quit being a professor and chooses Serena, and kisses her. And Dan? He stood there watching them. Serena always choose the wrong guy and every time she fails she goes back to Dan and Dan is always there for her, never doubted her. But when Dan messes up with Blair, everyone thought he only choose Serena because Blair already choose Chuck. They meant to be together. In the end, they always find way to get back to each other. After all heart breaks, it's still them in the end. Cause what they have is love, and is always there never changed.

In my opinion though, the thing is . Serena IS the type of person to be always confused of what she truly wants. Not only that, she’s got the tendency of avoiding what she wants the most because she’s so afraid of being hurt. That’s why she never really chose Dan, that was a repeated thing with her, she was afraid. But for Dan, he was never the one to choose someone else over Serena or even get confused between Serena and someone else. He always knew what he wanted and wanted it with all his heart no matter what he had to do for it. However Blair was an exception, she was the only person who made him choose someone else over Serena. Dan really was in love with Blair and the reason their relationship didn’t work out was because it wasn’t on a mutual level. Dan loved Blair more than Blair loved him, she loved chuck. Hence at the end really, Dan and Serena both just realized that no matter what happens they just return to each other whether they want to or not.

Don't blame everything to Serena. Dan was the one who first broke her heart by saying that he can'd handle Serena's issues then he broke up again saying "it's really over" when they discovered that they share a sibling then on s4 when Serena came back from Paris he told Vanessa that Serena doesn't matter as what S said "they chose first" then he goes to S, flirts then decides to stay with Vanessa. And that Ben thing, he was the one who push S to go to Ben alone. HE DIDN'T EVEN FIGHT FOR HER.

I mean, in season 3 she told Nate that she had never felt 'this way' about anyone when talking about Tripp Van der Bilt of all people! I think they should have ended up together, but I also think the writers shouldn't have done so many things to taint their relationship during the series

i hated the latter part of this scene where he basically negates/puts down what she said about him being the love of her life. Hey she's pretty certain you're the love of her life Dan, you just showed that maybe she's not the love of YOUR life I guess. Am I supposed to believe Blair is? Lord have mercy.

Me too, a lot! but actually I don't think they can do something to come back together, after all the Blair thing.. and the fact that they're so far away from each other. I miss them it's true.. but right now I can't imagine how they can start all over again. They're changed.. they were perfect before but now? It's hard to admit but maybe it's not their time.

Them two being together made the show for me the writers making his dad and her mom have a kid messed it up then making him gossip girl kinda ruined it because Dan really was a nice guy even nice guys tend to do shitty things when it happen to them but he was a good hearted person he made Serena feel alive he changed her life as she did his and like they said gossip girl is only up because people send it shìt so I would post the shit to but besides that the writers should have had them together break up get to know each other better more and see if it’s real and if so have them rock out the rest of the series together but just go through problems like any other couple does

+Kyra Lopez If you are a hardcore gossip girl fan you'll know they did not 'break up' the last time. Serena had kept Dan on a leash keeping her options open with first Nate, Colin and then Ben. Dan was always there for her and yet she always treated him like a second choice. And now that he may be getting over her highness she wants to remind him they were meant for each other? oh pls...!! That girl doesn't deserve someone as good as Dan. Blair says it right that Serena only sporadically loves him.. like he's a pet. And finally when once he's not trailing behind her like a lost puppy she wants to guilt trip him. While Dan has been there for her always to lean on and take support from, she has only ever been selfish, self-centred and spoiled. Throughout the six seasons you see her keep Dan aside for someone new. Nate. Colin. Ben. Gabriel. While Dan has always been waiting for her to take notice. And for once when he is not immersed in Serena filled fog, she wants to remind him he's the love of her life...?? I'm sorry dear but your actions speak otherwise. I can never forget Dan's face when she ditches Dan for Colin in season 4 and Ignores him and makes him late for his interview, and later speak of it as though it wasn't that important, so that she can look for the affidavit to save Ben in season 5. So you see I have no doubt on Dan's love. but I do believe he deserves a girl thousand times better than someone as shallow as her...!
