Same. I'm 31, so I missed the glory years by about 10 years. Any Skins fan my age or younger doesn't know what it's like to have a competitive team to root for.

@@brandondillman5841 Its not even that - it is the environment , atmosphere . A metropolitan area the size of DC was like a big college campus - with one of the best teams - that is how intimate and beloved the players , team was in that community . And Snyder destroyed that

I did like The Washington Football Team too. It sounded dumb at first but it grew on me. It was very straightforward, no nonsense, all business. Granted, that wasn't reflected in the owner of the team but maybe it would be now.

Not only that but some even had redskins hats that they wore every day. It sucks when people start getting offended for others. Grow up yourself

No owner is perfect, but I will as as an Eagles and 76ers fan, Josh Harris is a good owner to have. He is currently trying to get a new stadium built in Philly for the 76ers, though the location is of it is somewhat causing a stir.

As long as he's not a cold hearted scum bag he's a massive upgrade over Snyder. Idk what happened to that dude. He seemed like a good guy when he first bought the team.

Here is the deal, as a fan since the early 1970s, we are very happy he is gone. Worst owner in NFL history. He took the team from the top team to the bottom. Snyder will not see any jail time. He left the country, he is not being extradicted from the UK or Switzerland.

I remove my hat and give notice for the Washington fans are having a much needed celebration.

Being fined 60 mil to someone who just sold for 6.5bill... is like PayPal / eBay taking an administrative fee on a sale! Yes the league took the fine out of the sale price!.. I promise... The fine serves no monetary effect!

Paypal/ebay would charge you more. He payed 1percent of the purchase total. transaction fees are usually 2 to 4 percent of the transaction.

Players get $20-30K fines while making millions, they still don't like getting fined. Snyder may be a billionaire, but I'm sure he still didn't like having to give the NFL one penny from the forced sale (let's be honest Dan Snyder did not willingly sell the team). Trying to go after Dan Snyder for much more than that would have likely triggered a lawsuit from him. As a league, why prolong the suffering any longer than necessary when you finally have ridden yourself of him.

Dan Snyder sells his team at the same time Dan Patrick announced his retirement. Coincidence???? What does Dan Patrick know?

It is a Halleluiah Day for Washington Fans old and young. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first couple of years but it was obvious that he had no business being an NFL owner. I was a die hard Washington fan. I pulled for Sonny Jurgenson and Charlie Taylor way back when. Loved it when Coach Gibbs ran the team. But Snyder never could make a solid coaching move except maybe Coach Rivera. I am glad that poison is out of the Washington System. And yes Commanders is a terrible team nickname. Still mystified why Kansas City gets to keep the "Chiefs" nickname but I love Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

Next worst owner : Davis with the Raiders.

Bring Washington back to its original nickname. That’s how everyone not pretending to be offended by it remembers them anyway.

My NHL team the Vancouver Canucks has the worst owners in hockey. Aqualenie, his kids have sued him and will not talk to him. We went from losing game 7 in Stanley Cup final, to only making the playoffs twice in 12 years. The last time was the Covid season. They gave teams a chance to play their way in which we did. We didn't have a good enough season to qualify since 2015. He has a mean personality

Glad to see Snyder gone, but I don't want ANYONE to touch Jerry Jones. He single handedly has stopped Dallas from winning any Superbowls for 27 years and has ruined the careers of a lot of (otherwise) good players and coaches so I am fully in favor of what Jerry has personally done to the Cowboys franchise. His desire to want the credit to only go to him and not wanting to share credit with a competent coach and staff and players has kept the team out of many post seasons and all Superbowls since Jimmy Johnson in SB 28 and Barry Switzer in SB 30. And lets NOT forget he fired Tom Landry. By himself Jerry has done what I most want to see done to the Cowboys- he has made them a joke.

Won't he now release all of the dirt he has on the other owners?

They let one slide, a better name would have been WTF (Washington Team Football).

First of all, I'm a Washington Redskins fan, not a Washington Commanders fan. When Snyder bought the team many years ago, I knew he would be a disaster. Anyone remember the Albert Haynesworth saga?! I do. That was Snyder’s doing, and there were other cluster fu… like that as well. As much as Jack Kent Cook could be an ass, he let Joe Gibbs build a super bowl winning club that lasted for more than a decade. I worked at WDCA Channel 20 in the 80s and got to talk to many of the Redskins players. They were all fun to be around and always treated us very well, when they were at the station. I went to many games at RFK, and loved it! Went to one game at Fedex Field and hated it. It’s one of the worst stadiums in the NFL. Time will tell if the new ownership group will be able to build a winner. Thank God Snyder is gone! Hail to the Redskins!

actually it was bobby Beathard who built the team - yeah Gibbs was a great coach - and he certainly knew what type of player he wanted but Bobby Beathard was the guy who found incredible contributors all over the place - so many undrafted , unheralded players came there and some became hall of famers .

Don"t compare Dan Snyder & any of the Jones family, fyi the biggest issue in the Cowboys front office over the last decade is Steven Jones. When the Fuck did an engineering degree start to count as you should have clout building an NFL roster, unless you"re dad already owned one.

Snyder ruined a once great team and eradicated a fan base. And that is on top of the horrible allegations. And his reward was to walk away with about 4-5 billion profit. To say he sucked the life of our team is an understatement. Good riddance.

Started out as the Boston Redskins, which is a take on the Colonials that put on warpaint and threw British tea in Boston Harbor. That said, it was more than 40 years past time getting rid of that team name.
