LOL you know the thing that confused me so much... was that I couldn't tell when he was "real" and when he was the comic character, he found himself so slowly that the transition was barely noticeable until he transformed into the heartbreaking character he ended up as. The acting was so good that I couldn't even tell.

Her character is really pathetic, she has heart disease, and her love to the man in this video was a one sided love too. One day, she realized that she was an character from a comic, therefore, she try to change the story so her character wont be thay pathetic anymore. Anyway sorry bad english

kind wish she was nicer to him at times :( like damn mans reazlied he isn't real, he was unaware of it and he had no control over his past actions. his family isn't real, and his mom wasn't real, he hates hospitals bc of what he went through as a kid and throughout the show they made him the loner and outcast with no friends but thankful they included his lil brother to help him. the combination of his character and someone like dan oh who is sick had potential, I felt their chemistry in ep1, you know the usual mean guy with issues but falls for someone he would have never guessed, I first thought the storyline was going to be kyung and dan oh being the main characters and he was going to fall for her (as he did) but she fell in love with someone else and mans got his heart broken again. I knew he was gonna be the second lead 😭and I thought about stop watching the show bc I knew haru and dan oh were gonna end up together but I'm glad I stuck around and see his character develop edit: damn i was just ranting i didn't know it got this much attention 🕴i still stand by this kinda, i just felt pity and sympathetic to him since i can relate him in a way

Why some of yall hating on Dan Oh lol, if anything her straightforward treatment to kyung was def needed. She also cared for him and even accompanied him on his mom's death anniv and also at the end, but he needed the truth from her everytime even if it was harsh, cause he'll just end up hoping more and more if she would consider his feelings everytime

their story was so much more interesting to me than the main lead’s story. Loved how complex baek kyung was and how much his character developed at the end. The chemistry between dano and kyung was so strong and even though it was impossible for them to end up together, I’m glad they ended up being good friends who were grateful for each other. I wish the writer continued baek kyung’s character in the 3rd book too. He deserved a lot better.

As much as I could understand the emotional trauma he went through and felt really bad for him .. I still wouldn't ship Dan-Oh with Baek Kyung..simply because she deserved better .. ik it was the charecter that the author wrote which made him be this toxic, still he was waaaaay too harsh on Dan-Oh and I'm sooo soo soo glad that she ended up with Haru, who made her realise how love is supposed to be like.. although I'm glad that he had a really good charecter development..

Every time team baek kyung

i love baek kyung. He was the most hurt character in the drama. It sucks that everyone only sees dan oh's pain. Baek kyung and his mother's past, his abusive father, feeling left out in his new family & his entire journey of realising he's only a character in some comic book was so sad to watch. He loved dan oh since they were kids but because he was in a comic book his life was controlled by the writer who wanted his character to be cold and mean. His real self had to hide his feelings for dan oh because he was scared to lose her the way he lost his real mother. Because baek kyung's father wanted to use her for business and money. Or else you can see how genuinely happy he was when they both had gone on that date. Also, imagine the only person in your life who genuinely loves you and cares about, has been there for you throughout, being stolen by a guy who suddenly came into her life out of nowhere (Haru) You can't blame baek kyung. He deserves so much more than this.

OH MY GOD THIS MADE ME CRY... hurts me how they're not meant to be together.

Baek Kyung character really breaks my heart. He has a lot of mental issues developed ever since he was a kid in which he had no one to guide him on how to deal with those issues. Thus, after spending years in an abusive environment, he had to become the person he was in the first few episodes of the movie to protect himself from getting hurt. He was mean to other people, but he ended up hurting himself in the process, too. I think the actor really makes Baek Kyung comes to live with his acting. Throughout the movie, he didn't want to take advantage of Dan Oh because he knows that's what his father wanted him to do. Yes, it was his rebellious actions against his father, but he was protecting Dan Oh and himself. He saw his mother die at the hospital, it traumatized him, and it makes sense that he wouldn't want to go through it again. He pushed Dan Oh away with his rude and mean actions so that she would back down and not be taken advantage of by him and ended up being hurt more. I think after 10 long years, he believed that they would never be separated. He loved her but resented her at the same time. He was mean to her, but he was hurt, too. No one ever teach him how to care for and love someone, so he didn't know how to treat Dan Oh and face his emotions. He was used to the love and comfort that Dan Oh gave him, and thought that her love for him wouldn't change until Haru came, and reality kicked in. It is true that he should not reflect his anger on someone else, but I think no one ever understood him even the "Dan Oh," who loved him for 10 years. How sad is that! I don't blame Dan Oh for choosing Haru because Haru was her only hope in her desperate life, and of course, she is going to fall for Haru. Baek Kyung and Dan Oh could have been with each other if she had known he was being abused at home, and been there for him. Maybe if that's the case, he would not have to use his rudeness to protect himself. I wish he could have a better ending because he deserves to be happy after what he had been through.

Not every abused victim will act the way BaekKyung does. Why? Because they understand the pain of abuse therefore does not wish to inflict pain on other people. BaekKyung had a choice after realizing the reality of the fiction that was his whole life, but he still chose to be cruel to Dan Oh and Haru. While Dan Oh chose to fight for a new reality, he desperately tried to keep things the way it was; a la trying to murder Dan Oh so that she would lose her memories and go back to the original character as she was written. The character Dan Oh that loved the character BaekKyung. That was a completely selfish decision and one made because BaekKyung was only thinking of himself. She has repeatedly told BaekKyung that she has moved on, but he still insisted that he be given a chance. That's selfish. He may have loved Dan Oh but that doesn't mean that she has to love him in return just because he's an abused victim. Also, he alone is responsible for his pain and his healing, not another person.

That Dan-oh was always wearing the cutest little heels to school brings me so much joy

I do love kyung but in the end he just don't deserve to end up with her. I mean let's not forget the dude almost killed her. That just so sick. He was conscious. And still did that. Would you stay with that kind of person ? he is too selfish. He needed to know that everything can't be taken by force. Even if you like the person you can't always have them. Need to face reality.

Since the first time I watched the drama, I knew I didn't want to Eun Dan Oh to end up with him because of his character, how toxic he was and the way he treated her in stage and off shadow, and I see that people hates on her because of she treated him in some occasions but y'all wouldn't be hurt after so many harsh words??

I’m glad they did not end up together. I guess it would not be a probably if her memories came back, but he was so mean to her. He may not have been in control of his actions, but scars are still scars. He literally asked her to die so she would not bother him anymore. They would not work because he hurt her so much. If the lead had done this her, people would not want her to be with him, so why is he the exception.

Baekyung was very mistreated and misunderstood. His family was so messed up on its own and his father always abused him and made him treat Dan oh a certain way. He truly loved and cared for Dan oh since they were little but because of his character in the comic(STAGE).he seemed like a jerk most of the times. He truly loved and cherished Dan oh in SHADOW!! Just because her comic character loves him doesn’t mean she owes him anything. Even when she made her feelings clear he still wouldn’t budge and tried to coerce her to leave Haru for him. Also he shouted at her so many times in shadow simple because she chose haru over him. He couldn’t take the rejection and then became needlessly aggressive. (Dragging her around & screaming that she’s his fiancé) I hated his character, obvious case of a toxic man.

I wish we got to see more grow in baekkyung,, the writers gave him so little character development and I wanted to see how he'd be after he started to find himself outside the comic. I'm really glad the writers didn't force danoh and baekkyung into a relationship though.

so glad the story wasn't like the other stories and didn't end up together. Kyung's character was so bad in way that's confusing. But one thing for sure is Dan Oh didn't deserve the kind of treatment Kyung's character was giving her.

honestly if there's one thing i didn't like about the drama was the fact that shadow danoh treated the stage danoh like a whole other person. Like yeah i get that it wasn't something she can control, but still she lived her life as the stage danoh for 18 years so even if she develop another ego, those feelings and thoughts she had while being the stage danoh should've stayed in shadow danoh. Like in the manhwa 'July Found by Chance', there's the scene where she realized that she really liked Kyung before and then she apologized to stage Danoh for not following the story and pushing her feelings for Kyung away. And yeah, it would've been nice if they included that in the drama.

the way that baek kyung has the one who has feelings for dan oh for over 10 years instead of dan oh. this drama is really one of the unique storyline in kdrama.

This guy deserves so better! And when his younger brother said "You were always alone" and he smiled!

damn, somehow i never realized how toxic he was when i was younger... great think he didn't get her, aggressive, possessive, and talking badly to her all along, never understood why they made her with the other one cause "he loved her deeply" but now I'm kinda glad they thought of making her have a healthier way of seeing relationships than the fans of the drama lmaoo (ngl, kinda hate myself when i reminber loving jerks like him for the same how "bad" they were ew..)

Im genuinely scared of Baek Kyung cuz his personality and actions have lil to no difference on & off stage. But i feel sad cuz he didn't have anyone outside the stage besides dan oh.

His storyline was better...he should've ended up with the girl in the end. There was so much to his character and I feel as though he wasn't explored thoroughly. His story is tragic. 😢 Side note: Jae Wook is an incredible actor.

I finally understood that it wasn’t baeks fault for acting like that, the author literally made him out to be an asshole. When he became self aware he did become nicer to dan oh, even though he was aggressive at times he couldn’t help it since he had an abusive dad and didn’t know what it felt like to be loved and believed being aggressive can solve everything. I used to hate him, but after watching more of the show I grew to understand him and feel bad for him

Yes so true , he was just hurt actually .. the fact that all his loved ones left him and how he wasn’t able to show his love for Dan-oh makes it even more fatal... imagine being inlove to someone but you’re not allowed to show it until the end :(

Once he got to aware of him self he started liking her..once stage was over he will follow her.or say others to not to change the story as story keeps relationship of him and Dan oh

I Just want this Two Play together in the new Drama as A main lead cause honestly I love their chemistry so much lol, even though we got more bad scene of them when they are together I think it's just because Baek Kyung way too harsh to Dan Oh because of His On&off character (He can't Control His behavior at all)

Baek kyung deserve a whole Drama for his story.

Baek kyung loved eun dan oh but he didnt want to be hurt when she dies! just like with his mom baek kyung just gave up on her getting better because he believed his mom wouldnt die! So baek kyung wasnt the bad guy he was just Broken. And when baek kyung saw her with haru he knew he lost but still thought that he could get her back but he was way to late, baek kyung wanted haru to leave so he tried to make him go away and when he disappeared he knew he was to late for her to like him again like in the book.

I used to hate Baek Kyeong from Extraordinary You but the fact that there's a reason behind his bad attitude towards Dan-oh makes me so sad. If he had just discover his ego a little early, he could be an amazing man to Dan-oh. It's so sad he doesn't have enough time to explain everything and that it's too late so he's having a hard time. I really appreciate him despite of his personality.

I just finished watching it❤ God i loved it like WOW😍

I just felt sorry for every character on this drama...this drama is also a prove that no matter whatever we do on some things, if that things weren’t writing in our luck then we won't get it... But in this drama you can't get over from the second lead syndrome...

I feel bad for him but I'm glad that she ended up with Haru. Even if his actions weren't in his control she doesn't owe him anything and she already had a connection with Haru in the previous story. Sometimes I feel like even when he was out of the story he was mean but Haru was never like that towards her.

Beakyunt was straight up abusive, mean, and toxic , don’t know why ppl still wanted them to end up together.

I would've never loved Baek Kyung as much as I did if Lee Jae Wook didn't play the character.

To people that say "They had more chemistry, they should have ended up together!" Congratulations, you have successfully failed to empathize with the feelings of the heroine and in general the characters.

I just love him kyung he has many problems bt still he acted strong n ended up losing his first love 😭 he never hated her he just disliked her for having same illness like her mom😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤

He was a jerk, a controller an abuser he treats her like a material even in the Shadows, Remember when haru switched the watch with the other girl when Dan oh was supposed to be saved by Kyung? Kyung said, "let's see who's the main lead here" before Dan oh passed out.. Like he knew she's going to pass out but he doesn't even seem worried about her he was just thinking about fighting over who can save her like she's not a material dude. I get that he was hurt knowing that she didn't love him but bro, Think back of everything that happened especially that time when he threw the rock to the sea then Dan oh almost drowned trying to get it back! Even if that was stage it still not an excuse for Dan oh to love him, He hurt her much more than you think and even in the shadows, He knew she loved haru but he still did selfish things in the end.. but the character development still happened though, He finally knew what real and what's not in the end, He finally knew how to let go.
