I feel really bad for Gastelum, he had a title shot against someone much better suited for him to fight height and reach wise, and took an interim fight against a long technical striker because the champ was injured and then looses........ fair play to him, true fighter and put on a classic.

To be fair, he didn't deserve the shot in the first place. Every veteran where losing and the new blood (adesanya and costa) didn't win enough.

@@petercarboni9053 He lost to Weidman and the Jacare fight was pretty controversial. I had Jacare edge it, he almost subbed Gastelum multiple times. Whittaker never came close to getting manhandled like that when he ko'd Jacare.

Poirier definitely won 4 rounds as poirier wasn’t absorbing punches as they were all bouncing off his guard and he was still landing more valuable counter shots

R1 - Poirier R2 - Poirier R3 - Holloway R4 - Holloway had the better overall round but Poirier done the most damage, that's what judges score based on so 10-9 Poirier R5 - Poirier 49-46

@@jakewallsgrove1977 personally I would give Max round 4 too but obviously it needs to be scored based on the scoring system, not opinion and in round 4 Dustin done much more damage (opened up Max's forehead) so I think that's how he got round 4.

I get it if some people give Max 3 rounds. But to say he won the 5th round purely for the reason 'Max is a G. Max is a beast' is just plain stupid. Come on BT. Get Hardy and better pundits.

We could have a totally different outcome if gastelum never shot for that takedown when he had izzy rocked in the 4th. I know they were both exhausted but that was the game changer there

If he is smart with his punches and distance. He's gotten so much stronger, his punches could take khabib out. But lucky shots don't come easy.

Agreed, i thought it should have been closer on the cards than it was.

We are so blessed to see both of these fights. I am the biggest Holloway fan but the fight was all Porier because of his power shots landed and it just seemed like max was always playing catch up. I think Khabib knows a fight with Max brings more money so he wanted it to be Max

That fight was a lot closer than judges called it. Yes Dustin is more powerful and hit him was some big power shots but Max was doing some damage as well Dustin said it at press conference Max had him hurt several times. At one point I thought Max was gonna TKO him .

I like this show but the set is really awkward

That's one if the best. Wish it went one more round though the pace was perfect

This Open Mat only just showed up in my recommends and i watch a lot of mma channels, this show needs more exposure. The market for a multi-guest post event fight discussion breakdown is wide open.

They judged it on who looked worse because Holloway landed more total and significant strikes

I wanted Holloway to win, but I'm happy for Porier, he's earned the belt

Khabib doesn’t want it with Dustin.

Marc Goddard did a phenomenal job in the co-main event. Any other ref would have stopped it in the 5th, but Marc let it go on, that was amazing. Marc Goddard is by far the best referee other than Big John (Marc's twice as good as Herb Dean). The guy never makes a mistake. And Adesanya vs Gastelum is the best fight in UFC history so far.

I dont know but for me it was a 4-1 for Dustin, besides round 3 Dustin edged every round in my eyes. But I must admit that I thought Max was gonna finish him a couple of times. But damn 360 Strikes and 356 of those were significant......

How did they not talk about the new scoring system FFS, first round was 10-8 poirier the rest were all 10-9 rounds so even if they would say R5 was a draw (personally I can't see how people are saying poirier didn't winthat round) but even if it was a draw poirier still wins by 1 point

Max’s eye was definitely compromised after the first, and that definitely affected his performance from that spot forth

All I have to say is they better give Dustin the title shot against Khabib. For Tony it’s unfortunate, but he’s been inactive. I think it’s only right to let Tony sit out & wait for the winner of Khabib/Dustin. Or maybe give Tony a top 3 opponent & if he wins then give him the title shot. And for Conor he needs to fight another contender in my opinion. I really don’t want to see Khabib vs. Conor II right now. Let Conor work his way up again!! Maybe make Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje. And Conor vs. Frankie/Diaz 🧐🤷🏻‍♂️

@@davecad1685 Nah, conor hasn't beat anyone since 2019. Got choked out on 2 out of his last 4 ufc fights. One of those guys that choked him out. GETS BEAT 50% OF THE TIME. Mcgregor needs to work his way back to the top.

I was at the fight. I thought DP won 3-2 right after the fight. I rewatched the fight and think max won. He landed more and was still bringing the heat. Dustin won the 1st and landed the big knee in the 4th. Other than that, max won

@terry mc Why not he made 183 at offical weigh ins no problem and he doesn't get any bigger then 215 walk around weight he could fight at 170 and it wouldn't really be a stretch, his frame along with him being 6"4 and 80inch reach is good enough to fight in 3 division and it's a challenge him and Dana would love to explore soooooooo yea I think it could happen.

I think we need to see if he gets past bobby knuckles first and maybe he takes the 170 belt but don't think he would beat Jones or really half of the 205ers just due to their sheer power Izzy didnt like being backed up by kelvin imagine someone longer and more powerful

New rules make 10-8 rounds more frequent Dustin did more damage and was hitting max with counters constantly course he won and if it was a draw he still wouldn't be champ so hardly robbed and I love Holloway actually wanted him to win 😂
