I L O V E YOU LEX !!! I am a 70 yr old widow and after 30 years of marriage, I can no longer have this sort of thoughtful hours long intelligent conversation with my beautiful man. I would rather listen to your conversations and talk out loud to you, than go to sleep. Yet at the risk of being offensive, you will have to settle for taking second best to my late husband. "The weapons of love are much more powerful" -Lex Friedman I woke up this morning and found myself in one of those terrible internet holes where I made the mistake of watching a violent video too long. And then i got another, and another. I read the comments on these videos, and found so much hatred. People fighting amongst themselves over the fighting in the videos. It made me really sad. A terrible way to wake up, that too many of us fall prey to every single day. Then I threw on Lex and tried to get back to sleep. But I couldn't because I was so moved by his relentless positivity about there being more good than evil in the world. I then went to the comments to find the most kind people in the world, all together, boosting each other up, helping, discussing, and even disagreeing - but not disrespecting. It turned my mood from feeling helpless to feeling so hopeful. I have been watching you Lex since day one. It was an accident I found you. I thought your voice was the same as this crazy conspiracy theorist guy and was trying to connect the dots to see if you were him. You weren't. This was back when you would post videos of you playing guitar and things before the podcasts. I kept watching by accident too. I just wanted your soothing voice to put me to sleep. And here we are many years later, and you have executed your vision. Still wearing your suit. Still talking softly in a monotone voice, but there's something new now. You've united all the good people in the world. The thinkers and the lovers. The egoless. And it dawned on me.... This mf just started the revolution that will break the spell of hatred throughout the entire world. He did it with a soft voice, a clean suit, and love. What a thing to witness. Have a great day everyone. Make a difference. 🤘

Yes, good sir Lex, sincerely, how surreal is this interview? To be watching it in 2022 and see that it was recorded BEFORE November 2020, with all the weight that that particular moment in history carries, and somehow the rhetoric of the "context of the times" in present-day [redacted] America echoes... things we're not currently allowed to even discuss on these so-called platforms of discussion. Things like "Germany Awake." The deluge of the masses, was it? The eye of the beholder thing? Huh. Thank you for your work.

This was fun, we need a part 2
Dan Carlin is my GOAT to get me through tedious work days
Will we always have war? I think a more provident question to ask is "When there is peace, do we know why?"

I feel like KZread algorithms are getting smarter. It started suggesting Dan Carlin videos hours before you even dropped this, it's never suggested them before and I've never searched for him 🤔

I love you discussions, @lexfridman, but your optimism/naïveté is breathtaking at times. That said, keep up the great work.
Smartest conversation I’ve listened to. Many things I’ve been mulling over but couldn’t articulate. This helped me go from a gut feeling to nuanced articulation.
As a protester from the 60’s most of us really wanted to stop the war but we did meet girls and do some smoking they call it multitasking today
I love these podcasts so much. It’s absolutely brain food. I love the structure, the questions, the tone and ambience, the magnitude and weight of the topics. The philosophical framing and the raw, open honesty. I just love this podcast so much.
Dan is the man. Thank you for this interview. I hated history class... Dan changed everything.
I always listen to these podcasts at work.. This was a great one.. Thank you..
"Wisdom requires a flexible mind." Dan Carlin
His knowledge of history and historical figures, and the insight that comes with it... Great... but his story telling is his greatest skill. One of the most memorable orators of our era.
Fantastic episode! I swear I could listen to Dan Carlin talk all day and have already binged his podcast several times in years past. The man truly makes my brain hurt in the best possible ways, I always learn something from him. Whether it's a new perspective or historical details, it's always interesting!
Wow - this was an insightful conversation that brought useful nuance to a lot of fundamental issues. Thanks so much for initiating, Lex!
This is one of my favorite conversations I have ever listened to. So many fascinating thoughts were evoked from this discussion. Thanks Lex and Dan!

This conversation is the perfect example why we should never sensor an apposing view. I'm talking about these damn vaccines.
I was skeptical about Lex when I first heard him on Rogans podcast but he’s slowly but surely gaining my respect. He’s doing a great job with this podcast

I used to just skip JRE episodes with Lex. I just thought he was boring and came off as a smarmy know-it-all (kinda like Tim Pool). But after seeing more videos of him, I've come to conclude that he's much more open-minded with more layers to him that I overlooked.

I’m two years late on this video, I have become one of your biggest new fan. you are a bright young intelligent kind man, I hope your parents know what a good man you are, you have a lot to give. I pray God bless you and your path into your future. Thank God for KZread, I would never know you otherwise
Thanks for what you do and the conversations you bring to the world I just subscribed today keep up the good work
So, three years ago I get a smartphone from my granddaughter. My 53 year old son tells me to listen to Joe Rogan if I want to understand him. My other son suggested Dan Carlin to me because he and I both love history. Now I suggest Lex Fridman to both of them to show them what a quick learner I am! Wow, interesting time to be alive. Thank you all for educating and delighting an old woman. And for sharing your dad with us. 🙏🏾 Namaste
I love Lex's interviews. He asks questions, good deep questions, and just sits back and listens.

Dan Carlin is AWESOME!
As a Polish person, who grew up in the Eastern Bloc, but at the age of 14 moved to the UK with their parents, I appreciate Lex's view on the discrepancies between the two cultures. It really rings a bell. Except, of course, as Polish people, we hated the soviet union with a burning passion haha
Dear Mr Fridman, you have revitalised my sense of hope for humanity. Thank you.

Dan Carlin's Narration is second to none. While listening to his description the battle of Midway in his last Supernova in the East Podcast the vividness it elicited in me was like watching a blockbuster movie

I have to say that I could almost dedicate my precious and limited existence contently to sitting and absorbing your content. The variety of guests that you have and topics that you discuss, the calm intellect the insightful honesty with which you dissect these topics or engage your guests sets a great example for thinkers of today and I would say society as a whole very cordial professional intelligent unreserved I just I could spend my whole life listening to your podcasts and almost feel that it wasn't wasted, almost. Unfortunately I must go and do what it is I do for the day but I will listen as I do that. I really appreciate your podcast I feel that I'm a better person for each episode that I contemplate and absorb thanks bud You're doing fantastic
Great interview with fascinating dialogue...thank you so much

What pulled me in, captured me, and held me there was or is his compassion, persistence, belief/hope, for love. I think he just redefined the term LOVE and he is on to something. Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and Becker are rolling in their graves right now.
Dan Carlin shifted my entire perspective on how to think about history. I recommend Prophets of Doom as a 1st podcast for any new listeners.

Lex's commitment to LOVE is ✨exactly✨what our world needs. 100% YES it is the answer to it all. Please keep teaching and guiding and persuading people in this direction... Dan was amazing, of course, ... but his hefty skepticism of The Power of Love amplified Lex's optimism, passion and faith that love wins.
Another podcast listened end to end. Dan, you are such command and control and awareness of what’s being discussed. Great listener, great articulation. Lex, love you.
Lex is killing it recently god dang. Been looking forward to this one
