Dan Azeez on Buatsi showdown, his Muslim faith, and boxing career | Real Talk
Dan Azeez is one of the UK’s top-ranked boxers in the light-heavyweight category. Yet he was once dubbed as an ‘outsider’ and an ‘overnight success’ in boxing.
Is that still the case?
Today, Azeez is preparing for one of the most publicised fights of his career, a showdown against friend-turned-rival Olympian boxer Joshua Buatsi.
We joined Azeez at his gym for some midday training to talk about his boxing career, why he is vocal about his Muslim faith, and his upcoming showdown with Buatsi.

Respect to the brother, genuinely had no idea he was Muslim. I know Dillian Whyte (another South London fighter) is from a Muslim family too. Seen Buatsi since the Olympics, i reckon the pressure fighting style of Azeez will win him the fight.

@@ynwalfc.9711 Yes, Dillian is from a Muslim family, and a number of people have mentioned going to the mosque with him growing up in South London.

@@jamesmcdermott7354 Can't assume anything based on name alone. Many non-Muslims have names that sound Muslim. Regardless, proud of the brothers performance this last weekend. Gave a good account of himself. There was something up with that ring though.

Israel is not in violation of law. Israeli Military is a professional military that conducts itself according to all international laws. The evacuation of the Northern part of Gaza is underway, and we know it takes time. The Israelis have agreed to A FLEXIBLE TIME FRAME FOR THE EVACUATION. (please keep in mind that Gaza is about as dense as New York city. GAZA IS NOT THE MOST DENSE POPULATION IN THE WORLD. Not even top 50.) "Genocide" - really? If so, then Israel sucks at it, because the Palestinian population has skyrocketed in recent decades. " Apartheid" - really? If so, then Israel sucks at it, because there's TWO MILLION MUSLIMS CURRENTLY LIVING IN ISRAEL. Maybe next time, Palestinians could maybe... idk... Who was living there & what was the name of that land back then who owned that land?
