Great to see the Comet again. A very funny series from a happier time. Although a Comet 4C is boarded, a 4B (G-APYD) actually takes off. This 4B is now preserved.

Amusing seeing the luggage rack being just like those in the old trains. With nothing but a lip holding things in. God forbid turbulence.

A fairly common occurrence until 9/11 and the secure cockpit door. Fond memories of going on the flight deck as a boy mid-flight.

I would have love to have flown on a Comet in the 1970s but watching this footage it all seems so antiquated compared to today's airliner experience.

It was very noisy from the outside. I never say a Comet fly but got deafened by two Nimrods with the original Comet engines doing missed aproaches at Newcastle one afternoon. Lovely!

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen this is Captain Constantine, unfortunately we have encountered some serious technical difficulties due to a phenomenal Electromagnetic pulse coming from a mysterious Island below, we have lost compass direction and avionic systems have failed. Once we drop on to the Island avoid any black smoke you may see in jungles and the others.

It's probably a film version of "Are You Being Served/", a very unfunny 1970s British sit-com. It was common to make movie-length versions of these shows.

Where can I find the rest of this movie? What happens next does the plane crash or something? I have looked on Amazon and Google etc, for "Dan Air 1977" but can't find it.

I know. They had to swap to a locked door after the 9/11 attacks to stop an another event happening just like it. Most airlines used the curtain because they thought if they could see their passengers and their passengers could see them, it would make the passengers feel safer, by knowing what the pilot is doing.

A Comet....Pretty but a very dodgy aircraft.....cracks in the fuselage around the windows! Too many fatalities....Rather them than me!
