It's not that I can't tie this fly. It's that I will never tie any fly as well as this guy tied this fly. What a master. So many subtle techniques and touches. Perfect.
I know that this video is 8 years old but I just found it. Im saving it in my Flies category.
been a guide for years and never tied, your videos are great, u nail it. best on youtube.
Oh, and come to New Zealand, you have a mate here, me!

Great looking fly;techniques very well shown/explaned;Thanks Earl
great tutorial on the extended body. Works great for big Hexagenia patterns.
Amazing!! Now I need to go out and buy some of that material!!
Beautiful pattern! Thanks for this.
Thank for the video been searching for a great damsel fly pattern and now I have found it.🍻
Nice fly 👍
Thanks for this video! I had been looking for a damsel fly pattern, and I feel like this one is perfect. The deer hair extended body was a little intimidating at first, but after I tried it once it really wasn't that hard. I don't think I'll need to bother with any other dry damselfly imitation.
Really different and SWEET !
Fantastic tying !!
Great fly ,thanks for the video
Great video as always!
Great fly, thanks!
Awesome video
stupefacente questa costruzioni rende tantissimo insetto vero anche non molto difficile da fare complimenti 👌💯
I absolutely love the line "smash the barb". My son and I have been doing that for years if we can't find barbless hooks. Most of the time we can release a fish without ever touching it. Extremely important!! That's a great pattern - thanks for sharing the information.
I used this a week ago and caught a largemouth bass LOL
my wife and i were fishing at in colorado and experienced the coolest phenomenon of a damsel hatch at a beautiful lake. I only had one fly that even remotely resembled a crippled (uh Damsel in destress - i get it!!) and i lost it too soon cause, dang i wish i could spend $300 ON A REEL THAT WOULD JIVE WITH A
Looks like a good bass fly if tied on a size 1
This would work well on a pond I know gets some dragonfly hatches in the mid summer.
I'm tying this fly for a school project
I’ve never thought of doing a damsel fly like this with the buck tail saves money on a lot of tube flies you would tie with a nail or whatever
I live in New Zealand and just the other day I saw trout jumping more than 1 meter in the air taking damsels
Can you use just natural deer hair?
Would this fly work for stocked trout in the north Georgia mountains

Whiting Farms has beautiful stuff but limited quantities at times. Any retailer that sells Whiting should carry it or be able to get it for you.
Where do you get spooled antron?
