That's because the actors themselves were in love at the same time for the first 6 seasons. Ian and Nina dated from the middle of season 2 to the end of season 6. That's a genuine look on his face

exactly my thoughts. as if nina and ian's real breakup was not ugly enough :( julie plec decided to pour salt on our wounds. she could hav easily decided to end it with delena's happily ever after. at least let us be happy in fantasy if real life persons arent together anymore. of course she left the show bcz of ian's marriage. leaves me heartbroken :(

It's 2023 and still remembering every minute of the entire series. Delena, the most beautiful, epic couple on the show and in my opinion, in real life too. Even though it didn't last long in real life. I wish it had. In the series, it was love at first sight for them from the beginning til the end. I'll forever love this show and I'll definitely never forget it.

Rania lokbani I feel the same way. Most love stories are basically the same. I am in my 40’s and watched and read so many stories from USA and Latin America and nothing compares to Delena. I love TVD with all my heart and I am currently having a club discussing each character. We have discovered amazing things with our group discussion. I am having a great time with this group because we are seeing things that are nowhere mentioned on the web. We watch 2 episodes per week and make notes because there is so much going on underneath it all and we constantly have to keep going back and forth to understand a scene or character. The characters and their interactions in TVD are complex. We are having a great time in our group. You are not alone with the way you feel about the either because so many of us do.

fr I'm rewatching the whole show again

I get chills and cry every time I see the 'signature memory' of Damon giving Elena the necklace on her birthday, even though it hurt him to do it. The moment she knew she loved him. I literally sob every time I watch season 6 episode 2, Yellow Ledbetter. I don't understand how she can erase Damon and all those epic memories, no matter how painful her grief is 😭. Delena was meant to be, evidenced by her falling in love with him again, without all those wonderful memories. 💞 Delena always and forever! I 💗 you Damon Salvatore!

I didn't blame Elena for having RIc compel all her feelings for Damon away. She thought she was never going to see him again and she was in so much pain. I wish she hadn't erased his memories, because it took a while for Elena to fall back in love with Damon. We missed so much storyline of Delena because of situations in the script.

Since I started watching this series I fell in love with the delena, there was something in them that was missing from other couples in the series, in time I really started to love them, when they looked at each other, there was real love in their eyes, with the end of Season 6 in real they split their lives when Damon died and was sent to another world, when she was crying, this crying was real because they broke up and she still loved him, all by Nikki Reed, who pretended to be Nina's best friend and she really wanted to bounce her boyfriend, It's a shame on the woman, she does not respect her completely, she destroyed everything that was between Ian and Nina 💔🥺

@@DeanLovesCas tvd has the story, where one brother had to die for other. They can discuss many plans and draft . Earlier it was Damon who should have been dead. But as the story unfolds and delena becomes endgame, stefan death was inevitable. Both brothers death would have been epic but it would be illogical. It was great in the originals but Salvatores have different dynamic then them.
