He took it as far as he could.
My dad played on the team with him when they won the state championship in Indiana, so it was really cool to see this video. It may not seem like it, but Damon is a Basketball legend in Indiana.
In all fairness, No athlete can survive 7 knee surgeries and be the same type of player they were prior to being injured. Nobody.....
I'm from NJ where hoops is huge.. St Anthony's in Jersey City... best program in the nation.. and we knew all about Damon Bailey.. he was all world
Just like all the elite players of the past.. he was great when he was great .., he made a lot of people cheer and smile. Thanks good enough .
This is a guy who lived a life of singularity. My meaning is there is really not another person whose life he can relate to. With what he accomplished under the microscope he grew up under and the way he conducted himself, is flat out amazing. I think a lot folks would implode under the pressure.
Never heard of him...but Damm he seems humble and grounded and is passing on whatever he can to younger generations...An Honest Life and a Humble Champion...wish him the Best of Everything...
Damon Bailey we still love you in Indiana 2019!
Kind of sucks when you hear about guys like this who never could reach their full potential because of injuries or something else. Hopefully this doesn't happen to Derrick Rose like it did to guys like Brandon Roy.
I love how humble Damon is. He’s not disappointed with how it ended he’s satisfied with what he was able to accomplish.
I can't imagine the pressure that was put on this kid, especially playing for Knight.
I met him at a basketball camp years ago. All-around good guy!
We saw two layups & a jump shot... Daaammmn..This guy is the G.O.A.T!!
I remember this kid. He was awesome in high school and college. Great player.
I grew up in Indiana. Wore number 22 and got to meet Damen Bailey at a basketball camp. Still have my autographed basketball today
Went to a Final Four (1991-92), whooped up on the Fab Five, went nearly perfect in Big Ten play (1992-93 17-1). Winningest player in Indiana University Basketball history.
I enjoyed watching him at Indiana, He helped them win a ton of games.
I hated him growing up because he beat my high school in the championship (Concord). Now that I’m older I have much respect to him and his career. He really was phenomenal in that championship game, and I was happy to be able to attend the game which is still the most attended high school basketball game of all time! Sad to see his body couldn’t keep up with his will to play, wish him the best.
LEGENDS NEVER DIE
41,000 people. Incredible.
