Damien Trainor vs Rungravee Sasiprapa

Here’s my fight with the Thai terminator Rungravee Sasiprapa. I fought Rungravee back in 2011 and I was the first western fighter under 60kg to go the distance with him. The only other fighter at the time was Yetkin Ozkul and I believe that bout was at 62kg, everyone else he destroyed with ease. Everyone expected the same thing to happen to me, especially with him not making the agreed weight. I came in at 55kg (121Ibs) while he came in at 57kg (125Ibs). At the of the bout I walked back to my corner and my trainer Steve Logan told me to look around the arena. As I looked I could see literally the whole auditorium standing on their feet applauding us. Even to this day this is something I've never seen before and it's a memory from my career that I'll treasure.

Clearly you don't train Muay Thai, or if you do you probably have a western point of view on how to fight/how points are earned. Muay Thai is a combo between control, powers and dominance. Of course elbows landed in a clear and strong strike are gonna make good points, but also being able to stay on your feet, eat them and act like nothing happened is A HUGE and important part of the fight narration. Rungravee bowed to Damien at the end, congrats him to be the first farang to not go k.o by him.

I remember seeing this fight a while back! hands down best muay thai fight ive seen! Big up to Damien representing Brum town! Ive seen this Rungravee training and I was wondering how does someone fight such a man! loool Dammien held him still! Big up everytime! Big up to Steve Logan too and the K Star mandem.
Unabashed bias from that Brit commentator. Nevertheless, some breathtakingly technical Thai boxing throughout by both.

This is the best fight ever. So intense in every round. Respect to both fighters from Thailand.
Fantastic fight. The final kneeling in respect at the end was icing on the cake.

This is such a great fight. Trainor’s balance & technique probably make him the best ever UK fighter for me

An absolute masterclass. Amazing everything. Great to see such respect at the end.

5 minutes into the fight and the commentator's bias and screaming made me want to turn the audio off.

The standing ovation imv was for both fighters, great fight. I would probably have leaned toward a draw. I think they both outclassed each other in some ways lol, Rungravee was very rigid but fast and clever, Damien used some good tricks, just an outstanding performance by both.

That ring looks small.. This is straight phone booth fighting.
Please don't punish us with midroll adds, I will never let one run if I can catch it, I doubt anyone else does either, put two adds up front and two at the end, I will let them run, I encourage others to do the same. Midroll adds drive viewers to add free subscriptions and add free browsers, which diverts away or eliminates the revenue stream for content providers / channel owners.

@@craighibbert8759 yes. Andy howson is great. Brilliant record. Great accolades. His style is very different though. Trainor is very very very technical. His technique is perfect. If I want to learn a technique I watch trainor. Plus trainor broke his hand early in the first fight.

@@colinmoore747 What are you saying? You said Damien is the best uk fighter that ever lived. He got beat by the same UK fighter 3 times. Andy also broke his hand in that fight but fought on to win. Although Damiens achievement speak for themselves Andy Howson and Liam Harrison from bad comapny have achieved so much more and still continue to fight being the same age as Damien. Having good technique is brilliant but winning fights proves who is best.

The Thai was not even all that seriously time and let Damien lose on and off. If the Thai seriously want to annihilate him he's be kod
