I never believed it was the leaks that killed it. The reactions to the leaks were overwhelmingly positive. My guess is that WB simply decided that a Damian Wayne game wouldn't sell.

I read someone say that WB thought a Damian game wouldn't sell. Thats dumb if its true. Damian appears everywhere right now and is a well established part of the world of Batman He is generally accepted as the main character of the DCAMU Batman movies and those stories revolved around him and they did very well. DC consistently shows him as the Batman of the future much more than others,atleast after Bruce. Stories involving him have doing well lately,he had his own run in 2021-2022 that did quite well. He is literally the second main character along with Bruce in the DCU Batman movie! And James Gunn who is a big name said he is his favourite Robin. The gorilla isnt Gorilla Grodd btw,its most likely Jackanape,a villian Damian faces as Batman in Grand Morrisons 666 universe. While the voice actor said it was not in the Arkhamverse,i have read the devs saying it was based on Talias relationship with Bruce in Arkham City. So there might be some disagreement there,OR most likely the devs based it originally as being in the Arkhamverse but later it became its own thing. Either way, nothing changes. The project should be revived,they should consult the og Arkham devs and make it a sequel to Arkham Knight. Bruces story as the Batman ended in Knight, regardless of what Suicide Squad says. Anything after that is Bruce being "The Ghost" we saw in the end of Knightfall. You CAN make a game on that for sure,but it will largely undo what Knight meant. You COULD make a Terry game but he has zero build up to it,whereas Damian has due to everything about Talia,its set up very well for an intense story. It doesnt take much,just a BADASS spectacular trailer out of nowhere,showing people everything they would love,show the character in a more popular light(although i like him in most media except Injustice 2 and think the complaints are silly, don't get me started on the degenerate KZreadr Demigah) This voice actor sounds likeable unlike the actor who voiced him in Injustice 2,who did an amazing job of making him insufferable(even though in Injustice 1 he sounded dope) As for Old Bruce,we have the tag team gameplay from Knight to work with both these characters.Another hint it was originally in the Arkhamverse. You can get a voice actor that will sound like a much older and much more tired Kevin Conroy.

Sounds like an interesting twist on Batman Beyond with Damian as Batman instead of Terry. Imagine the fun gameplay with brutal combat (it's Damian afterall) set in a dark, sinister, cyberpunk esque Neo-Gotham. Why can't we have nice things?

Just a friendly reminder.. WB chose Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad over this. Let that dog shit sink in.

WB games really thought playing as Damian Wayne Batman after the events of Arkham knight was a bad idea but a game where you’re the suicide squad was a better call smh

There’s no way the leaks caused the game to be cancelled.

It hurts even more knowing they took some assets from this game and put it into Gotham knights.

Man the concept alone of the Damian Wayne game fells like Arkham. After the ficking suicide squad destroy everything, I don't care what anyone will say. This Damian Wayne game is the REAL Arkham Knight sequel in my head canon.

I mean we did end up getting the Snyder cut which people didn’t even think existed.

I remember back in the day WB Montreal also cancelled a Suicide Squad game that was rumored to didn't impress the WB executives, and also Rocksteady cancelled a Superman game they were working on. My guess is that probably during development and early demos WB execs saw that the gameplay was too repetitive from what we got from the previous Arkham games. Like Arkham Origins (which was also developed by WB Montreal) compared to Arkham City

@@clipsdelosmajesit depends on who you believe. Kwing says there was one after Arkham City and it was why Rocksteady didn’t end up making Arkham Origins. Working on a Superman game, next gen Arkham and an Arkham prequel was too much. They ended up using elements from the Superman prototype in Arkham Knight with the Batmobile destruction features.

Sure the leaks killed it... Between this and the rumored Superman game Rocksteady pitched after AK and considering what we got, Gotham Knights and SSKTJL. It's pretty obvious that WB wanted to get away from single player games and focus on live service/multiplayer games which are more monetizable. Of course with all the backlash Gotham Knights became this weird amalgamation and SSKTJL will apparently give out all its post launch content for free. WB and mismanaging the DC brand, what's new?

0:41 Nocturna would be a cool idea. But imagine a Batman vs Nocturna (a vampire) fight it could be interesting with all the type of vampire weaknesses and stuff. Since she’s a Batwoman villain maybe she would have show up too? 🤷🏾‍♂️

I honestly wish the new suicide squad game leads up to a new arkham game in the future something like a Batman Beyond with new stakes and evironment like an elseworlds thing where they can do whatever they want with Terry and have the option of the jetboots and gliding through huge skyscrapers would be pretty dope imo.

A Batman game with the Nemesis System??!!! That would have been crazy!!

We should honestly start a demand/petition on getting a continuation of either Arkham Knight OR a decent Arkham-ish game. They made Arkham Origins which was honestly a *MASTERPIECE* (imo). Wouldn't dev-companies LOVE to know what a fanbase want so they can make good money?! I read a comment about Terry and that would be a good setup. I would rather Rocksteady pick something up like that to link it to the arkhamverse. It's too late considering that they killed Bruce Wayne's legacy, moreso than he actually did himself.

I still wish that this Game was Revived and Reworked a bit,There's still some Untapped Potential hidden within this Game. BTW,I'm going to make my own Interpretation of Damian's Batsuit as if it was the Final Design.

I hope someday they go back and revive this project

If they hopefully ever revive this game, I wouldn’t even want WB Montreal making it after seeing how GK turned out. Give it to Monolith. They created the nemesis system originally for a Batman game anyway and it was going to be in this game.

This game must be revived! I don't understand how it was possible to cancel this masterpiece and create Ghotam knights?! I'm still waiting for the new installment in the Batman Arkham series. Batman Beyond or the revival of this cancelled game. Ghotam Knights and suicide squad, this is a shameful game for kids. We need a new installment in the Batman Arkham series, adult and dark game.

Batman is a lone wolf hero. Don't get why it's all about teams and FPS now. None of that is Batman. Sefton Hill has started his own video game company and it looks promising. Ever since he left Rocksteady it's all gone downhill. Looking forward to whatever his new company comes out with. This games looked awesome though and that rogues gallery with Judge look really cool.

This game would have been so good and the story probably would have been great it's sad it got shut down and the main batsuit looks so good

I think Keaton is actually incorrect about it not being in the Arkham universe. All the leaks, that turned out to be true, said it took place years after Knight so it was a continuation. However, the game would not have had Arkham in the title. Anyway. I really hope this game somehow gets revived despite however low of a chance there is.

This should’ve been the game we got instead of Gotham Knights.

I want to know who the person was that denied this over Gotham Knight and SSKTJL. Cause I will then find out who that person's boss is and explain to them how they are completely screwing up that person should be FIRED! I don't even work in the industry and I know better. I also know that you should stick with what works. This game would have done a hell of a lot better than GK and SSKTJL. Every single Batman game has more players playing them consistently than GK and SSKTJL on STEAM. I dont know about consoles but I am pretty sure the #'s are high. Even Batman Arkham Origins Multiplayer is more fun. To see that we could've had this over those other 2 games really hurts.

Remember, in the Batman Arkham series, we never saw Damian, then it would be a great opportunity to bring him back in the next game, maybe create a story where he was sent to Ra's al Ghul before Arkham City story

Hundred star games should finish what wb couldn’t

I think the biggest thing that would've held this game back, just like gotham knights, would have been it not being a part of the arkhamverse. I'm not saying it absolutely couldn't have worked, but if it would've been anything like gotham knights, then no. I say that because "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and people love the story line of arkham. People love the gameplay system of the arkham games and I think most would only rather it be expanded than rehauled because it's a new franchise. I also believe most would feel the same about the lore, for it to only be expanded rather investing time in to something possibly lackluster, and let's be real gotham knights was lacking some of the elements that made the arkham series so phenomenal. Sorry if some of that didn't come out right, I just got off work, but feel free to tell me if you feel differently. Would have loved to see what this game might've been, but since I found out that it wasn't set in the arkhamverse I'm kind of happy it didn't come to fruition. I think it would be better to get this in the future set in the arkham franchise.

This project wouldn’t be anything like Gotham Knights, and even if it wasn’t really set in the Arkhamverse, I think it could’ve done well, or at least much better than Gotham Knights. Although, looking at the concept art, part of me still believes it was tied to Arkham and Josh Keaton misremembered it. All the characters look like older versions of their Arkham designs, especially Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson and the Judge. A new Black Mask and new Ivy would follow their deaths in Arkham Knight, so just connect the dots.

I think Josh Keaton is wrong on that. All the leaks he’s talking about mentioned it being set 10 years after Knight. It absolutely was going to be in the Arkham universe. But it was going to be a “soft reboot” because it was a new protagonist and new villains but continuing the Arkham continuity.

Did my own research and couldn't find any DC Comics related characters by that name, but it doesn't surprise me considering they were going with a lot of B/C-list characters for this game. It could also be someone entirely new they created solely for this project.

​@@tyleroutland435have to meet both of y'all in the middle Arkham Knight was good but not great I'm glad we got the game because it was a nice send off gameplay was good story was alright map was fine score was awesome but the obsessive use of the Batmobile the lack of work they put into the boss battles is why it isn't great but the guy who said Project sabbath wasn't set in the Arkhamverse was shown to have lied or made it up so Arkham Knight would have been sort of crucial to the plot of Damian Wayne's game but I definitely would have preferred Project Sabbath over Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights
