The real festivities take place on Saturday night. I quit watching the all star game years ago. It’s been a joke for years now

I think this is exactly what Dame needed. I think having a good weekend shooting the ball and winning MVP will help him. His shooting has been one of the low points in the bucks at the moment so if this helps propel him, offensively for the bucks it should help. They defo need incentives in these games. I think what Curry and Ionescu did was a great idea. They could maybe do something similar next year. Like it doesn’t need to be shooting but maybe an aspect of the game that sets fair ground for both NBA and WNBA players and have them face off. They could perhaps tinker the skills challenge and have a WNBA team participate. Just an example but these competitions need to be adjusted.

Looked pretty obvious Dame made an effort this weekend to prove to himself and the MKE faithful that he’s still got plenty left in the tank. Hoping this jumpstarts some big performances down the stretch

I think this was a light jab at Hailiburton as well. Generally when your playing the ASG on your home floor you get more opportunities to shine. Knowing the Bucks/Pacers rivalry we currently have I wouldn't be suprised if Dame himself had a little more motivation once he knew things were going right for him offensively. Looks like the Bucks/Pacers rivalry will continue. You can tell Hailiburton wanted that MVP and Dame was like naww.

The best solution at this point is leveraging the playoffs. Winning conference team gets home court advantage in the finals. Money is not motivating them and they have shown more effort during the summer runs they have.

Many people have been saying this for years. I agree as well, but that won't happen under Silver, in part because he's too player-friendly. I wouldn't even be surprised if they wipe the 65-game minimum rule, because so many high level players have expressed displeasure. They need to make both the ASG and the IST important for the playoffs if they want to increase fan & player engagement.

Tbh the players are gonna score high numbers, so in order to get the most of both sides they must limit the score and eliminate the clock. A race to 150 or 124 would create urgency and overall force defense.

Dame sent a message to the Bucks that need to make plays for Dame.

1 seed doesnt matter anyway if the team in the other conference that you meet in the Finals has a better record then you.The NBA should totally implement the rule to make the ASG have more stakes. MLB did it for the longest time. This rule wouldn't have any effect on teams hustling to get that number 1 seed.

Just get rid of the ASG completely, and turn the 3-pt contest into a East vs West tournament. Each side has their own elimination rounds on Saturday and Sunday, and then the EvsW final is Sunday evening. No more excuses from players about injury risks, needing rest, etc.

Make it Team Offense vs Team Defense. Best offensive players vs best defensive players in the league and put a financial incentive around a target goal for the offensive team. Say 115 points. Would give more exposure to defensive players that wouldn't normally make it to an all star game like herb jones, and bring some intensity to the game for all 4 quarters

@sammydray5919 that's what this would hopefully be addressing. Team Defense would be filled with the best defenders in the league that actually enjoy defense. JJJ, Herb Jones, Brook Lopez, Jrue Holiday, Rudy Gobert, etc.... Players that wouldn't necessarily make it to the all star game normally. They'd have more to prove and it'd be a great way to market more players that aren't necessarily house hold names. I'm biased though as defense is my favorite part of basketball. Would just love to see the nba actually showcase it.

Defense need to count is -2 if you get block or anything under three point line. If you get stop above the three point line you can get -3 for other team and possibly 2 or 3 more points for your team. I would like something like that to balance nba game and encourage defense

The reason they don’t play is because they’re all friends. This is the reason they call each other to recruit each other. It hurts the competition, and this is why the ratings are low. The league needs to take back control and these players should be charged with tampering fines like other leagues. This isn’t about the talent, it’s about the fight on the court to win. MJ, Kobe, Shaq and all the ones that came before Lebron knew this. Lebron changed the landscape, but it hurt the on court product.
