Never even at Xfactor !!!

A very difficult song to sing; to match the legendary Celine Dion who sang it 20 years ago in 1996 Olympics. Yet, Dami did it! With ease, elegance and style. Voice so clear, pitch so true, and words so beautifully and powerfully sung. It is Dami's power illustrated and demonstrated! Her own powerful story for all in a powerful event! Dami is with the best of the bests!

Yes, a wonderful performance, too. In fairness to Dami, Celine had a full symphony orchestra, a full choir and piano accompaniment.

Often it comes down to a question of taste. I am a fan a Celine. She is a phenomenal talent. But Dami is on the way up and just keeps getting better.

SvendBosanvovski Maybe you are right, maybe I'm a little bias. I am a fan of both singers but maybe I lean towards Dami because she is new, fresh, young blood. An up coming amazing singer with awesome vocals to boot.

Biggest 2 miler in the world, and its been around for well over a hundred years... it also brings AU to a stop, as people watch it as more of a social/party/cultural event... it also attracts a viewing audience of some 700 million people around the world, and entrants from all over the world. Hence the song... plus its a great tune :D

I know you & I have been harping on about how Dami should change the "Love" theme, this is what I mean- The Lyrics in this Song are so Powerfully Inspiring...watching Michelle & Stevie Payne with the perfect vocal delivery from Dami brings a tear in the eye...I hope Dami can produce something similar soon...magic!

# Dami Army World I've been listening to some older tunes of late, from singers with far far less vocal talent, but my god, the lyrics and music have substance that just incite emotion and survive the decades ... Formula pop kills that creative spark that unquiness.. Dami has a "world class" voice screaming out for songs that do it justice. So, I agree with you 100 percent (although we/I may be branded as heretical ).

I can see where @Shakypam is coming from, it originally released in 1996 for the summer Olympics with billions watching it, yet even with the power house vocals of Celine Dion it only just made gold sales in Japan (the worlds 2nd largest music market... and the only country it did reach gold status, as far as I know). It never made much of an impact globally (but Dami sang it as well as it could of been and it served its purpose for the theme of the Melbourne cup this year, so well done all)... imho there is a "lot" of generic and formula based music out there and they all have the word pop incorporated.
