Thank you sir! I was theorycrafting last night on a piece of paper and wasn't sure about the order for damage, now I know: (Base+ Effective Added)*(increase&increase)*(More)*(more)
thanks for the videos man so much help! One thing coming to this game I wanted to change is I always follow guides and wanted to theorycraft some builds of my own... Id love a video or two that combines everything. (asking alot seeing your videos are expansive already) but where you sit down with a basic idea for a build and step through the thought process etc.
Thanks for putting together this in-depth guide, this is very helpful. Question - is there a maximum/cap on penetration % you can do on normal mobs/bosses? I’m playing cold upheaval beastmaster with a staff and from the upheaval tree itself I can get up to 130% cold pen which seems really strong but I’m concerned that there may be a cap to penetration and exceeding the cap would actually be useless to my build?
A question for you. I am using swipe that has 2 physical base damage with the shattered lance set that gives me 1500% increased cold damage. But the damage is very low. The 2 physical damage cant have that much of an impact since the weapons give me alot of flat cold damage, right? And everything else is geared towards cold damage.

Swipe is default tagged Physical, which means your adaptive melee damage on the weapon is also going to tag Physical. That item doesn't have a lot of adaptive though, so I'm guessing your problem has more to do with Multipliers, Pen/Shred, Crit, Etc.
How can I check my base dmg itself in game? If I press c all I see is%
I didn't yet understand the part about shred and penetration. Why does fire shred/penetration reduce physical resistance?

fire shred/pen reduces Fire resistance. Did I accidentally say Physical in the vid?

@@McFluffinGaming Nah, in the written guide: "Example: If you have 10% Fire Penetration and 4 stacks of Fire Shred on a non-boss enemy, you have reduced their Physical Resistance by 30%."
Do tri-elemental skills benefit from all added / increased damage from any element or only the element with the highest stats?

Non specific added will be split proportionally among the damage types the skill has tagged. So if a skill has fire and lightning but only 25% is fire, then your added damage will be 25% fire/75% lightning. Increased damage is not split, but will only affect the appropriate damage type, so increased fire damage will only affect the fire damage in your skill.
So if you have a weap with +10 cold +10fire +10 physical and you use physical, does that mean the +10 cold and fire becomes physical?

If an added damage source specifies the damage type (i.e. +10 cold) then it does not change the damage type unless you convert it through a skill.
we really need a critical chance calculator :/ especially for throwing :p !
Forgive my lack of comprehension, it seems you said sources of "flat damage", don't apply to a skill if that skill doesn't have a matching tag. If I have a physical melee skill and I add +2 fire to all melee skills, would that not apply?
@McFluffinGaming

Yes, because it has the melee tag you'll get the +2 fire. Note that it might not scale well if the skill increases sources of Physical damage.

by adding damage to your build.
30:03 no longer true, as of live. falconer's bird is a companion.
What does necrotic damage do?
@McFluffinGaming

It's just a damage type like Physical, Cold, Void, etc.
This was about as intelligible as a drunk Schwarzenegger trying to speak French... ...and as helpful as explaining how a single chop-stick works. If Lightning Blast/Static Orb gets converted from Lightning to Cold. - Does 100% increased lightning get 0%, 50%, 100% of its value counted? - Does 100% increased cold get 0%, 50%, 100% of its value counted? - Does 100% increased magic get 0%, 50%, 100% of its value counted? Attacking the dummy is about accurate as a blind man pissing during an earthquake... while the tool-tip seems to indicate all kinds of odd numbers - like lightning getting

You sound angry. Are you OK? As stated in both the written and this video guide, only the base damage is being converted, nothing else.
