Build more big dams, allow farmers to build collection dams (big holes) on their properties. Send water from the Spencer Gulf into Lake Eyre, that will green the whole of inland S.A.

It is criminal, the way we don't do more to hang on to the stuff when it does come and in the top end, it's there every wet season. It's time to go after the greens and their anti-dams policies. They get a mere 10% of the vote or thereabouts but thanks to our screwed-up electoral system they get way too much of a say.

Time to create an inland sea out of Lake Eyre. When full it has about the same salinity as the ocean...so build a canal from the gulf! Can't be done, is the catchcry. Meanwhile, I look at all those canals in the UK, France and Scandanavia constructed in the 19th century and think yeah nah, it can be done. All that heat will evaporate that water and create a climate and a wonderful flow-on effect.

A lot of dams in south east Queensland should be connected to make sure it has a good supply of water . millions and millions of litres are lost on spillways when they overflow. Do that instead of worrying about the Oylmpic games.

That dam is so small it's crazy, give the people a better dam. Why wasn't it at least de-silted while it was empty?

Its not even a dam... looks like a small weir! They should have raised the wall whilst it was empty... another lost opportunity.

Why didn't State Governments freight water in by rail? Trucks are expensive, could've freighted in water by rail, especially now we can extract drinking water from the sea.

The cost of converting or buildings a train carriage to carry water would cost far more then trucking it in

well, chepest in long term - and most enwiroment friendly - will be to build ipelines. so start campaigning to expand dams, build new ones and build new pipelines for water.- build by aussies workers, not ccp ones. MAGA - make australia great again.
