Dallas: Season 6 (1982-83) clip (Pam meets Mark Graison)

Here’s a scene from “The Ewing Blues”, the 14th episode (117th overall) of the sixth season of the 1978-91 CBS drama “Dallas”. The episode originally aired Friday January 7, 1983.
Miss Ellie Ewing (Barbara Bel Geddes) has to face a hard decision when she must decide whether or damage Jock’s memory or see her family destroyed because of his will which put his two sons J.R. (Larry Hagman) and Bobby (Patrick Duffy) at war over control of Ewing Oil. To that end, Miss Ellie approaches Mark Graison (John Beck) for legal advice and introduces him to Pamela Barnes Ewing (Victoria Principal). Mark instantly shows an interest in Pam.
Note: This is John Beck’s first appearance on Dallas.

He had just come off a short lived nighttime soap called Flamingo Road on NBC, costarring Mark Harmon, Morgan Fairchild and Howard Duff. (Duff would go on to Knots Landing as Greg Sumner's father. )

Me too. His and Pam's love story was so bittersweet. I don't understand why people seem not to like his character. In my opinion, John beck was a very handsome man with an athletic body and the storyline with Mark and Pam was good!

Well, Dallas was a prime time soap opera. The show needed drama. That's why.

It seems like Bobby knew Mark Grayson from many years before. It may have been because Mark knew the Ewings or him and Bobby were friends at one time. Bobby seemed excited to hear from him when he called Southfork shortly after this meeting took place. Later on, when he heard about Mark's death, he seemed sad and gracious about it despite their previous differences. I wish that more would of been mentioned about how Mark and Bobby knew each other.

Interesting that a new by product of petroleum was discovered consisting of a derivative of the scum scraped from Grayson’s mustache.

Ha yes. But Mark is 1) confident and 2) rich. That goes a long way when you’re average looking.
