Yup. Went to hospital and came back for the shot at 0:50 with the shot framed so you can't see the plaster cast.

It gives his death scream a chilling authenticity!

Fun fact, the guy playing Thompson also played the Alien in Alien for some of the stunt shots. These being his attack and ambush on both Brett and Dallas. And when the Alien got blasted away by the shuttles exhaust.

This scene is why Peter Hawkins and David Graham are my favourite non-canon Dalek voices. I think their best work was on the films

According to some behind the scenes commentary, the actor who played Thompson did indeed break his leg/foot while filming this stunt. Here's how it went. An explosion on the building was suppose to act as a cue for him to turn his body into a safe position where he could fall through tarp. Unfortunately, it was set off too soon, and, in the time he had to react, he ended up falling foot-first. His foot/leg was immediately broken and he had to limp towards the Daleks. He was sent to hospital afterwards, but came back for the scene when he was exterminated (making sure to keep his leg cast out of shot).

the man who played Thompson is stuntman Eddie Powel he was a stunt double for Christopher Lee in the Dracula films and played the Alien in the first Alien film in 1979

Another fun fact. When he falls onto the bricks and gets exterminated he actually broke his Ankle when he fell.

This movie was much grittier than the first one. A shame they didn't do the third film, I would have liked to have seen a movie mechonoid.

Daleks had flamethrower attachments instead of the manipulator arm in 'The Dalek's Master Plan', but unfortunately all episodes of that story are missing

@@jamieolberding7731 Use some clever camera angles and it can look like they are getting roasted when the flames are a good safe distance away from them

Pity this film didn't do as well as the first one, otherwise the studio would have made a series of Dalek movies.

Little late I know. But originally the studio did not have the budget for laser effects. So they were to instead shoot actual fire. But this was changed because it was deemed to scary and too dangerous on set.
