Why in the hell is Dale Watson and this Studio Session not a bigger hit than this???? This is one of the best from the day!!!! My new love is DALE WATSON!!!!! Please - Please-Please let's get him the recognition he deserves. Original and amazing sound. I feel it in my bones - his style and sound is so needed today! Much respect and love Mr. Watson :)

Sounds as fresh in 2021 as it did in 1996. Great band and Dale Watson is King 👑

Just discovered Dale a week ago. There’s something wrong with the music industry if he’s been “under the radar” so long. I know Massachussetts ain’t a country music haven, but c’mon, good music is good music.

Man the same thing happened to me years ago. And I live in Maryland not necessarily the Haven either. But I’ve been to for Dale Watson concerts and not been disappointed once!!!

If he is not already, It would be a sin! Dale Watson should be in the Opry, CountryMusic Hall of Fame, Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, and the Song Writers and Musicians Halls of Fame! This Ol’ son is wanna of the greatest guitar pickers and singers to ever hit the stage with a telecaster!!! But we all know that music row absolutely loathes real country, especially the fellas and gals who write their own songs. To them it’s endangering one of the most obsurd industries with in pop music. Because that’s what Nashville radio is, it’s pop. It wouldn’t be so bad if they just advertised and promoted it as such, but no they have to take air time from actual country and western artist that’s producing huge amounts of young people making real Americana country sounds. For example J.P. Harris & the Tough Choices, Margo Price, Nikki Lane, Colter Wall, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Steel Woods, Blackberry Smoke, Charley Crockett, Ashley Monroe, Dale Watson, Jim Heath, Pokey LaGarge, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Benjamin Tod, Shovels & Rope, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sturgill Simpson, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Deke Dickerson, Chris Scruggs, Flat Mountain Girls, Loretta Lynn is still making killer records, Hank III, J.D. Wilkes, Cody Jinks, etc. I could go on all morning by I think you get the point! #NashvilleDoTheRightThing #NashvilleManUp #NashvilleDropTheWokeAndHomosexualAgenda And Finally #NashvilleGrandOleOperyStopExploitingTheNameOfHiramKingWillimsSrAKAMrHankWilliamsSr.

I think this is from around the time of his "Blessed or Damned" record, a Goodwill find which introduced me to him. He does his best stuff live, though, and his recent show clips are even better than this. I missed him at 3rd and Lindsley last year, but I hope to catch him the next time he's in Nashville. PS on the studio version of "Truck Stop in La Grange," he zooms down to that bass D on every verse.
