Dale Strickler Webinar: Maximizing Return from Native Grass by Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition

Ғылым және технология

In this webinar, Dale Strickler discusses the limitations of productivity in the native tallgrass prairie and techniques for profitably managing these limitations. Dale is an agronomist and a leader in the soil health movement. He grew up on a diversified farm near Colony, KS, then attended Kansas State University, achieving both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agronomy. He also has his own cattle operation near Jamestown, KS, where he puts into practice his theories about creating better soil. He planted his first cover crop in 1988 and has been experimenting with them ever since with increasingly impressive results.
Listen to Dale's recorded webinar from September 10th, 2020 where he explains maximizing return from native grass. Topics covered in this webinar include: physiology and limitations of warm-season native grass, limiting factors to native grass productivity, grazing management (involving season of use and grazing intensity), interseeding possibilities, and dormant season utilization.
