Dale Earnhardt Jr. Wins Daytona 500 (2014) NASCAR 🏁
Спорт
Dale Earnhardt Jr. survived the longest rain delay in Daytona 500 history and a spate of accidents to score a win at Daytona International Speedway and capture NASCAR's biggest race.
Second was Denny Hamlin, followed by Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski.
The race was rain delayed for more than 6 hours after heavy thunderstorms and a tornado warning hit the Central Florida area mid-afternoon.
Early on, things looked good.
Rookie Austin Dillon started from the pole in the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, the first appearance for that car number in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race since the death of Dale Earnhardt here in 2001.

Such a great memory
I remember having to go to bed before the race ended bc of the rain delay(had school the next day). Finding out the next morning junior won was bittersweet, upset because I had to miss such a valuable moment, yet ecstatic that he captured the win. Even though I couldnt see it live, every time I come back to this video I cant help but shed tears of joy. Junior and nascar were such a big part of my childhood and always will be.

You have bumped your head to even consider Jr was as good as his Dad on super speedway's. Or mid to short track's for that matter. Jr went for over four years without winning a race.
@slimbrady6691
5 жыл бұрын
@@lskiller1903 Yea and he also won 5 out of the 7 races at Talladega between fall 2001 and fall 2004, the 2 races he didn't win, he finished 2nd. That's something even Dale Sr. never did. Junior won 9 superspeedway races over 18 seasons to Senior's 13 superspeedway wins over 22 seasons. You also have to take into consideration that the era Junior raced in had much tougher competition. He was just as good on superspeedways, I never said anything about short tracks or speedways.

@slimbrady6691
4 жыл бұрын
@@HomeSlice_2424 Exactly man. If NASCAR was rigged, Junior would be an 8 time champion now because that's where the money is. Hell, they even fined him points in 2004 for cursing after he won at Talladega and that pretty much cost him the championship; if NASCAR was rigged in Junior's favor, that would have never happened.

Fixing a race can be very dangerous...all NASCAR has to do to fix a race, is once “whoever they want to win” gets in 1st, tell the rest of the field, to slow it down; DO NOT PASS “HIM”...then everyone will just crash...so I don’t think you can fix a race...especially at Superspeedways
