Dakmam Visits The Old Train Farm O Gauge Layout 2021

Ойын-сауық

In this video Dakman Productions visits the Old Train Farm O Gauge layout. In the first part of the video Harry Henning III and myself introduce ourselves. Then I move on to shooting a video tour starting with walking down the stairs to the basement of the Old Train Farm. After that I move on to the work shop and have Harry explain different trains and buildings. He also explains a little about ERR and Cruise Commander. Then I move on to the main layout area of the Old Train Farm and Walt Herbine takes over talking about different things on The Old Train Farm O Gauge layout. There are several highlights of the layout including a Millhouse turn table and transfer table. Then Harry takes back over and shows us his O Gauge and Standard O Collection in the barn. Walt then surprises me with a birthday gift. Finally at the end of the video is a interview with Walt and Harry who are also part of The Train Shop Weekly KZread show from Henning's.

    Excuse me a moment while I get my lower jaw up off the floor... There, that's better! What can I say? It looks to me like The Old Train Farm's basement is like Henning's shop in Lansdale, it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside! HOW do they manage that? There must be some classic Pennsylvania / Ben Franklin ingenuity at work here! And just an absolutely stunning collection of trains and artefacts! Museum quality! I've been to Lansdale myself several times, it's a classic old PA town, so I can well understand the desire to model and preserve the memories of the old days there. Thanks for taking us along Shawn!

  • @asdfdsa45
    @asdfdsa452 ай бұрын

    Speaking of John Will's Super-chuffer boards. I bought three sets a couple years ago but when I tried to install, the process is NOT for non-electronic people. The instructions need to be re-done coming at it from a novice' stand point and not assuming that you understand electronics. For example, ERR and earlier TMCC do no look the same and this was one area of confusion. Another is setting the chuff, this was just not detailed enough in instruction. I wish a much better set of instructions would be provided with these upgrade boards. These guys like Harry who do our upgrades are clearly overwhelmed now, there are not enough people doing them and this is another reason why these instructions need to be greatly improved.

    Why is 3rail so popular in the U.S?

  • @Dakman

    @Dakman

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great question. Not sure where you live but noticed myself how 3 Rail O Gauge is popular in the US over 2 Rail O scale but in the UK its the exact opposite. One of the biggest benefits of 3 Rail is that you don't have to worry about wiring reverse loops. The 2nd thing is that Lionel has been a long tradition for people in the USA. There are people in the US that run 2 Rail O scale but not many.

    Most of the metal cars you see are made by Greenlight and are 1/43 scale. You can buy them at 3000toys.com or Ebay. Greenlight is also on Facebook so you can keep up with new cars coming out. Just beware that they only make so many cars and then move on.
