Great review! I've been meaning to buy this one because I LOVE Drakkar Noir but HATE how under-performing it is!
Dakar has to be one of the best values out there. I enjoy both the roll-on oil and the spray versions. The performance is very good. I get a very strong clove scent in the dry down that is a little strong for my taste. Still, that could account for the fact that this outperforms, the current Drakkar Noir by about five hours.
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

i bought this one a while back because i was looking for a drakkar noir replacement with better preformance i think i saw a old video of you where you also did a review on this one and i found it on ebay for less than 15 euro and i must say on of the best cheaper frags i own ,i love the smell its long lasting and im really glad i got my hands on it :)

Yes definitely very inexpensive and high quality with a nice Drakkar noir vibe
I love to use the oil roll-on and then spraying the new Drakkar over top of it gives you the citrus top with that oak moss-heavy Drakkar base. It almost perfectly mimics what I recall Drakkar vintage smelling like.

That’s a good idea to combine the two for the ultimate Drakkar noir experience lol
Great video as usual Kelan ! I agree 100 percent with your review. When it comes to the Drakkar noir DNA which I’m a big fan of this one is a good choice for the cheapest ones along with Lomani pour homme which I prefer. There are the high end ones like Duc de Vervins and Ceasars man which I found because of you on this channel. I really like Dakar but I found it a little bit too sweet and not enough minty at least for my taste. I have Lord which is more like Lapidus pour homme and it’s a very good one too. Keep up the good work!

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Ceasars is a fantastic scent, it’s so good, but I think that Duc de Vervins à l’extrême is my number one choice.
I like this one a lot! Basically Drakkar Noir with real oakmoss as I understand. I actually wore this a couple of days ago and later compared it side-by-side with my newer bottle of Drakkar Noir, and I have to say the modern DN actually holds up very well. Maybe not as potent as it was in its heyday but whatever oakmoss replacement they are using seems to be pretty good.

I feel like I definitely have to try this one.

Always !
I have the 6ml oil. It smells like Irish Spring body wash. I like.
This also has the patchouli the original DN had and which was lifted out of the formula around 1990 to meet changing tastes at the time. Or so I've heard, not having tried a Cospar ('80s) version.
Cool review 🔥

Yeah never a dull moment of bathing in green oakmoss in south Nj
Even without the DN comparisons, as a standalone Al-Rehab were on point with this fragrance - a couple of sprays will have you smelling clean and fresh

Nice one, I really like it too. I also got „Lord“ as a roll-on and the Sprayer. Oh „Lord“ this fragrance is insane 😳 and totally Beastmode. The bottle stood at the table and I could smell it 2m away 😂

Hey Kelan, Love watching your regular videos these days mate. I guess you weren’t much of a Drakkar Intense fan. I received one from my wife for Christmas. Absolutely loved it and had much more staying power on me than the Noire I have. Kind Regards Renoy

Drakkar intense ? It was a vanilla / amber scent really. I made a video on it lol
Please make a review of Al Rehab LORD. Ive got oil version and its a beast. Smells like a more herby animalistic and strong Lapidus Pour Homme (maybe it smells like a vintage Lapidus, but ive only got 2014 bottle /edit aww yeah you mentioned it in this video

Lol Lapidus itself is on the horizon for a revisit video
Interesting take, Kelan! I bought Dakkar way back when, from your first video. I won't lie - I definitely pick up on the Oud in it, especially in the mid to late dry down. It throws me off, because from top to bottom its all Vintage Drakkar Noir. But the Oud isn't prominent. It's like TF Oud Wood - you can detect it. Not to say I'm disappointed, but I'll likely never use it. Besides, I just ponied up and spent the premium on Vintage Drakkar Noir which is well worth it to me. Great video brother. Look forward to the next one. Also: Yeah I'm not a fan of Middle Eastern style either. A shame. Their premium companies use second to none oils. If they got into making classic fougeres we would be in business.

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Just picked up a '94 batch from Le Parfumier - shewww is it nice.
I ordered a sealed vintage Cosmair bottle of Drakkar Noir. I'm excited to get it and relive the Drakkar Noir of my youth. I hate to say it but the guys who say Drakkar Noir has held up are wrong. It's nothing like it was when I got my first bottle 20 years ago.

I have a vintage and the current, i don’t personally see that much of a difference. But nothing will be the same when it’s that old, if only it were a “new” vintage lol
beast sprayer looool. I agree completely with everything you said tho, it's still smells different compared to vintage DN which I have.

@dipdip8 It's not a clone of Drakkar NOIR. It replicates the original 1974 Drakkar (no noir) almost perfectly, though. Very heavy on the oak moss

This is a Dihydromircenol BOMB! Not 1 to 1 with Drakkar, but has that same vibe - citrus, sage, moss, dihydromircenol. Outragesly clean smelling. Thanks bruv!

I just got Choco Musk by this house on Monday. I really like the scent, but I'm disappointed in the performance. It's very light and not super long lasting. I did get the spray...heard the oil was stronger but I don't care for rollerballs. I've thought about getting a few others from this house like the SMW clone and this one. They are cheap enough, I need to just grab a few.
@ScentsOfSouthJersey

Choco musk lol ? Do you still have the VC&A pour Homme btw ?
@cubs531
Жыл бұрын
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey My wife was not a fan of the VC&A and it wasn't something I used much. I ended up giving it to my dad as it's more of his style and he likes it. So it found a good home, thanks! I like gourmond fragrances to wear around the house and to bed. I had a decant of Montale Chocolate Greedy and it is strong but kind of powdery. Supposedly Choco Musk is better and way cheaper. It's definitely extremely cheaper, but the jury is out on the quality.
I have a few from Al Rehab and they really are great for the price, Silver is an excellent clone of SMW by Creed. I also have a couple of the roll-on oils and, to be honest, I don't actually know how to wear those 😄 Does anyone know how much to apply and how?!

With the roll on’s I usually just roll them on lol. But silver was a nice freshie I agree. I prefer the sprays personally
Al Rehab "Dakar" reminds me A WHOLE LOT of the original 1970s "Drakkar" (minus the Noir). I love it. I also really like another in the Al Rehab line that's called "Sultan". It's incredibly fresh and citrusy, soapy and masculine. I've had it on in a relatively large crowd and got comments that it "smells like Italy". Kelan, I'm with ya on the fact that a lot of the Middle Eastern men's fragrances have that "certain note" that's hard to like... I think it's cumin... Smells sort of like B.O. and curry powder to me.

The OG Drakkar is so hard to find, I thought it was a citrus based scent so i had no idea it was like “Dakar.” Id be worried it would be spoiled if I purchased one

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey hiya Kelan- Sorry that it took so long to get back to you on this... Yes- I think that Dakkar is the actual name of the Middle Eastern city, but the name "Drakkar" was for marketing purposes.. But that Al Rehab Dakkar reminds me SO MUCH of the 1974 "Drakkar", it ain't funny! I think the original was discontinued by 1980, if I remember correctly. And that's right around when Drakkar Noir came into being... I love it, too. But the Al Rehab product really "takes me back". Cheers!

Dakar is definitely a darker take on Drakkar Noir with tons of oakmoss. Sprayed two times on my clothes whenever I wanted to wear it and this thing projected like Andrew Tate calling other men having small Ds. Now that you've mentioned Armaf, have you come across Legesi Homme by the same house? I have a bottle of it and IMO it is one of the best offerings of barbershop fragrance from Middle Eastern houses. Most of people find it to be very similar to Platinum Egoiste by Chanel. Personally, I haven't compared them both side by side since that I don't have a sample of Platinum Egoiste, but I can say that the scent reminded me of the Gillette shaving foam, but nicer(?) The bottle design could be way too tacky for your taste though.

I recently picked up Legesi and it is fantastic. I have never smelt platinum egoist, but after smelling this copy, I have definitely smelt platinum egoist within a barbershop or within the golf country club. I used to go to as a kid. It is definitely a fantastic clone/scent and is fantastic in summer.
I’m weary of clone houses. I like a few Middle East fragrances, not a lot though 🤷♂️ . If you make another channel do like a workout channel or a style channel! 👨🏻
