Daiwa sealine 30sh review key points before purchasing.

Спорт

A quick look at the daiwa sealine 30sh aKa slosh 30 there where some interesting things I noticed buying this reel that where worth a video mounted casting video coming soon !
Biggest Issues,
1. Ton of backplay in handle.
2. sideplate must be unscrewed to adjust brakes.
3. Reel sits HIGH on rod.
4. Gear box sits low and hits finger.

I’ve had a pole since I was a kid (pulled from the trash) with a sealine 50H reel. That was over 20 years ago and the action is still smooth as butter. Such a treasure

Been fishing these reels for 35 years, marlin, tuna, yellowtail, never needed to replaced the drags, just service them. Just changed the bearings out on my SL20 after hundreds of tuna on it. Bullet proof low maintenance great casting reels.

Excellent casting reels. Take a 13' 14' rod with your reel setup and you'll be clocking 160 yards effortlessly. These Daiwa 30/40/50's are well used here in South Africa. Value for your money.

I recommend a trigger to help with grip during casting, it will get your hands away from the gearbox. Check ebay for options.

I thought the brakes were spares, did not know the were not fitted out the box. Thanks for that tip.

A handy tip for replacement brakes for these is to get a used disposable biro pen, take the insert out of it and cut it into spare brake tips. it really works. just make sure there is no ink left in there before cutting them.

im not sure if you figured this out yet but the clicker can be turned off by sliding the black knob located on the side where you took out the screws from. also, there are left handed version of these reels which could help you from having all of those issues you just mentioned.

Nice review of the main points. I use them reel down and control reel with left hand so gearbox doesn't hinder the grip otherwise it would defo be an issue. Recently just picked up 2 of them 2nd hand and they feel like new. The beads from a breakaway grip lead work well as a brakeblock too. They bigger than the daiwa red so one usually does esp with thicker lines. Subbed to your channel! I haven't tried yet some extra grease on antireverse claw might dampen down the click noise.

I dont take the 7HT to the beach at all I only go to the field with that reel it seems fragile compared to my other reels the main drive gear is really small so I know guys across the pond fish with it but I don't so I take the Avet,Penn and slosh to the piers and beach.

You don't know what you are talking about. I personally have used to 20, 30 and 50 for over 8 years and they are all excellent reels. Also an experienced multiplier user will not put the brakes on. The reel casts brilliantly. If you cannot handle it don't blame the reel. Further it the gearbox gets in your way you are holding your rod incorrectly at casting setup
