Can u ship the pinion support to Singapore??

Waiting on pinion support now. Should they be oiled or greased prior to being installed ? If so what would you recommend ?

Just drop of oil. PMR Bronze or Titanium pinion supports are now available

Is it just me or don’t you need to take the handle retaining nut off? There’s well enough clearance to get it on and off with the pinion support installed - just done it!

Any chance you could do a vid on how to change the drag washers on diawa 7ht Tournament. Thanks mate

hello sapitoazul, you can buy it on ebay he sell them on, just write on ebay search bar ( Daiwa 7HT PMR Tuned Pinion Support Sleeve For ALL 7HT's - 15mm super Long ) and you can find it there it cost 4.99 pound I bought one for my Daiwa mag st yesterday thanx a lot to Jamie.

you should get rid of the wheel bearings out of your car and fit brass bushings instead then.....Neil Mackellow wrote an article in sea angler magazine maybe 25 years ago about fitting this very thing.....two months later he wrote an apology advising people not to fit it as it would void Daiwa's warranty and cause premature wear.. He was contacted by Daiwa engineers and it was explained to him why its deliberately designed and manufactured that way and he advised readers to remove it

That is because Daiwa would have threatened to pull advertising from sea angler if a retraction was not forthcoming, back then magazines used to be completely driven by manufacture advertising, revenue was thousands of pounds a month. As a journalist and member of the NUJ, I have been in the same situation with a diving mag, I was a diving Journalist back then. The mag was Sports Diver; they rewrote one of my articles after I gave a bad review to a regulator. When Sport Diver received a letter from an NUJ Barrister, they reprinted the original review. I had the NUJ to back me up, but there were a lot of names who wrote for specialist magazines who did not have membership of a union. Back to the problem. The Daiwa 7HT suffers badly from gear wear without a pinion support, even more so since the Mag and Mag ST now have a stainless steel pinion gear with a brass main gear, which now wears the main gear even quicker. Also under load the handle wobble is more pronounced. But now things have changed and too many people have spoken out... Daiwa does not comment any more. Please note that I did phone the Daiwa head office here in the UK (Lanarkshire Scotland) a couple of years ago on this subject but they did not comment at the time or get back to me.... PS. Neil Mackellow was the best of us and a total gentleman. I respect his opinion and know he would have respected mine. I am sure all who read this will make up their own mind on this long on going subject.

@@PimpMyReel hmm. Speculative......hearsay....unfounded as they would say in courts.... I personally spoke to Neil about it on the phone and as an engineer myself who's daily job it is making giant versions of what look like abu 7000 I totally understand why daiwa designed and manufactured them this way for the x4 generations of this reel...if there was an issue it would have been changed...I can turn and mill just about every part of a multiplier reel from stock bar so know a little about them
