Never seen a brass spool. That would be very heavy. No not magnetic

That is the loudest drill press I've ever heard. Sounds terrible, like my lawnmower when it threw a rod.

Duane Fields 1950's band driven pillar drill I inherited. Sounds terrible but works great! You can't beat old engineering 😎😇
