My son produced the animation. He first directed the green screening with the animation in mind, and then led a team of animators to create the animation. Took one month of hard work.

Man, I heard this song once, and today out of nowhere, it was stuck in my head all day. I remembered it word for word. The beat is so hypnotic you can't help but sing to it. I was surprised to see the chorus came from a song done back in 2017. However, in this song, it has a very different feel. Extremely catchy and it is what hooks you in. When I first heard the song, I was in the car with radio turned down low. When I heard the chorus, I had to turn it up. Cool song.

The "its going down down down" and the ""im doing a-ok"" was such a nice lyric rewrite for the same melody for sure my favorite parts of the song

1:59 I've listened to this song so many times and just barely realized that the "Sometimes all I'm ever doing is trying to convince myself I'm alive" is in the background before the lyrics actually come up prominently, and I think that's really cool.

I really like how Ajr introduces new, smaller artists by making collab music with them. It really shows how ajr is helping small artists became a little more well-known in the music industry.

I don't understand how they do it. Usually when you listen to a band, their album songs you don't hear on the radio are just "More Band" and you feel like you're just there to hear the vocals with different flavors. AJR Though? Nope. Every single song they put out becomes a new anthem, the kind of stuff people would make as break out hits, not as like, a single after having a sucessful single after having a successful album. These guys are unstoppable.

I'm way to excided for this. AJR is my favorite band and mixed with one of my favorite song's, it will make it so amazing...to bad I won't be able to see it at the premier though since I have school tomorrow and can't stay up, still can't wait to listen to this the second I'm able to.

I can't get over the reverb effect that happens when DTG says green in seasick sorta green. AJR and DTG killed it. Also the vid and ending are sick.

I went to see AJR a few months ago and Daisy the Great were one of the opening acts plus they sung this with AJR, they’re amazing and totally underrated!

If you look at 2:00 jack is the only one that didn’t get hit by a train cause he already did in the weak music video

I think Netflix trip is sang by Ryan for the verus and Jack, Ryan and Alex are doing the chorus but I might be wrong. They should definitely do more though there all great singers

This song has been stuck in my head consistently for the past three days.

Well I was always obsessed with AJR, but now I've got a new musical rabbit hole to submerge myself into. Hello, Daisy The Great. The harmonies give me chills, it's reminiscent of Eisley.

Daisy the Great and AJR already have such similar amazing styles, this is gonna be great

As someone who loves AJR and wants to be an animator, I think this music video is so awesome. It’s whacky and colorful and it’s very creative with the absurd animation. I absolutely love this music video cause it’s so cool, and this song is such a bop!

I think the song is more about the commodification of nostalgia and materialism. I'm afk on phone. So to keep it short the record player is antiquated af by 2014, they are sold for looks and vibes. She likes vintage dresses and "pretending" she's something she's not. It's an aesthetics. It's all fake. We are "in the simulator" It's definitely more cynical than your interpretation. It's more about the manufacture and commodification of the feeling your comment describes.

Update: I highly recommend their cover of Scarborough Fair, as well as their song Persephone (kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJlttKNqnqa-aLQ.html). SUCH a vibe, makes a complete city-person like me want to move off to a stone brick cottage, eat honey, and dance in the early hours of the morn.

The train part just killed me out of laughter 🤣

"Guess I gotta go and get famous for doing nothing" I don't know why, but that line is sticky in a good way, it's a banger.
