To think I was a teenage fan at a signing session at HMV Cardiff 2003 with a copy of Last Train Home and shook hands with this demon is sickening. It's not a chance thing for parole. He'll be out after 2/3 of his sentence is served with the rest on parole/licence. I'd be money he'll violate his terms and end up back inside for the rest of his sentence though.

There is a reason for it. For example, if you raped a child and you knew that if you got caught then you'd receive the death penalty then you have a very strong incentive to kill the child too. It is a fine balance. A sentence needs to deter the initial act first, but once the initial act occurs, then the sentence needs to deter even worse action. I suspect that if Watkins knew he would get the death penalty then there'd be a few dead people at his hands given his character.

Sean Smith of the Blackout has a podcast called Sappenin where he had Stu Richardson, bassist for Lostprophets on and he tells an amazing story about a time that Watkins messed up their anniversary show of Start Something. Stu then proceeded to kick the fuck out of Watkins on the tour bus leaving him in quite a state. Point being here, if that’s what the other band members did to him for messing up a show, imagine what they would have done to him if they could of gotten access to him after all this came out.
