I saw the thumbnail, and I wanted to say: you need specialized equipment to use guns underwater. Cold War era Russian Technology made two major pieces of equipment. The APS Underwater Rifle, which functioned similar to an AK-pattern rifle, but fired specialized speargun-like bullets designed to pierce enemy frogmen (Soldiers that are Amphibious, AKA operating in both water and land) dive suits. The trigger was also scaled up so that the gloves of the user wouldn’t get in the way too much. The SPP-01 underwater pistol did something similar, firing the same speargun-ish bullets, but could be reloaded in the field, unlike the NATO counterparts, where reloading required a dry environment and complete disassembly of the weapon. It had 4 barrels, each housing one bullet. The firing pin would go around from barrel to barrel, and breach-loading it allowed someone to reload each barrel, but a clip/speed loader was made to reload all 4 barrels at once. These weapons could be fired above water, but took a lot of damage from that, so it was reserved for emergency situations only. Effective range was decided by pressure and depth. Deeper down and higher pressure meant a lesser effective range. Before these, the only counter to enemy frogmen, were friendly frogmen, and a knife. Or an AK-47 in a sealed plastic bag, but you would only get maybe one or two bursts before the bag filled with water and the gun was rendered useless. Furthermore, the rounds were not designed for firing underwater. So, yeah, you can get the fish oil, but only if you have the gear to do so.
