@@roringusanda2837 If I recall correctly, pedants were itinerant teachers who walked from village to village giving lectures for tips, wherever they found an audience, like a busker, but presenting knowledge, instead of music. They were also known for a lecturing style that assumed that their audience was almost completely ignorant of the subject material. I was trying to make a silly joke that we should not expect pedants to know anything about automobiles.
