Daily IVE Homilies, July 9, 2024 - Exorcists Estimate that 1 in 4 Americans have Diabolic Obsession.

00:00 Intro
00:20 Gospel
01:37 Homily
A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus,
and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke.
The crowds were amazed and said,
“Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
But the Pharisees said,
“He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”
Jesus went around to all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
and curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Mt 9:32-38

I’m a devout Catholic. Daily Mass attendance and daily Rosary. I get bombarded with cynical thoughts about people. And I run into out of the normal excessive coincidences. Example, I thought about getting latex gloves and then all of a sudden I see a latex glove on the floor exiting a coffee shop. I know that they set up situations and immediately place the suggestion/thought in my mind. Usually to pass judgment or just go along with their suggestions. I do pray the binding prayer of sending them to the foot of the cross and that has been 💯 effective. But it isn’t a permanent solution. I get attacked on a daily basis by some random individual or situation. It could just be that I’m praying for a lot of things like spells to be fruitless. Prostitutes. LGBT people . Pedo. Children victims to child predators. Souls in purgatory especially those who don’t have no one praying to them. Inmates conversion. Souls who are going to die today may God grant them the grace of a sincere confession. The entire church. The family especially those struggling. I now know they are retaliating.

Interestingly, 1:5 Americans are believed to suffer from some form of anxiety. That is 66 million in the US alone. The ratio seems to be stable throughout the west - which is now post-Christian. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Dear father in Christ... God is using you on behalf of his church... How can individuals make a sure distinction between spirits and imagination? As God can guide our imagination and allow angels and demons to do the same using the circumstances...

Discernment - go to confession often, attend holy masses at least every Sunday (if posible daily), avoid activities that demon can enter even on horro movies. Pray holy rosary and Divine Mercy daily. Day to day, you will know God more.

That is a great question. Discernment is a very important part of the spiritual life; you can find here some of the principles for discernment of spirits as presented by St. Ignatius of Loyola in his spiritual exercises www.vocesverbiusa.org/catholic-resources/rules-for-the-discernment-of-spirits. It is also good to talk to a priest on this topic. In general, because demons are able to influence us through our senses (including imagination), it's best not to give too much thought to these. Instead, we ought to continue working on virtue, have a regular life of prayer, frequent the sacraments, and read the Holy Scriptures daily. This too will be of great help in our quest to 'test every spirit'.
