    I do a bit of valeting/detailing on my days off i like how you never skip stages even if your struggling for time i know i feel tempted sometimes as i feel im taking up the customers time but prep is key

    Never knew that about limescale build up on the emblems. Always thought it was just dirt also. Will pick up that gel to have a bash on my car 👍

    When I first started I just thought it was dirt too, but realised that it didn’t go after a clean, then looked into it more! I have only seen one other detailer on KZread (white details) use it as it is often an overlooked step 👍🏼

    Thanks 👍🏼 I know, tell me about it! In my opinion the GT cleans better at a better dilution as well so is more economical. One thing I don’t like is the GT foam is a lot thicker!

    I love that you used a traditional wax 👌, sick of all these ceramics. I've been using that angelwax h2go for a while now and it's unreal stuff,highly recommend it for anyone thinking about getting it. Brilliant video 🤙

    I do like using a wax, but a lot of the time clients want the longevity of a coating! H2Go is great stuff isn’t it! So easy to apply and last quite a while too 👊🏼

    It’s not a traditional wax mate. It’s really good but smells like petrol. Just don’t put too much on.

    Agreed. More of a sealant. If you are wanting a strictly carnuba wax the Swissvax would be a good shout 👌🏼

    @@HarpersCarDetailing they do a gloss version of that wax. King of gloss which is lovely. Doesn’t bead like the one you used though. Bit of a cult product a few years ago.

    The Audi looks mint, nice job. Did you use any polish on the alloys and what do you use to prevent condensation build-up on the inside of the car windows in cold weather?

    Thanks Nicky! I didn’t in this video. I don’t use anything for condensation. I find those kind of products make the glass hazy.

    Thanks 👍🏼 It was a rayon polishing pad. If you don’t have one then a normal microfibre pad would work as well

    Enjoyed the video. May I ask is this all in a days work or spread over 2. I appreciate it’s your job but I can’t see myself doing all that in one day with all the taping up and polishing.

    This was over 2 days 👍🏼 You would be able to perform a single stage machine polish in a day and make the car considerably better but not perfect 👍🏼

    Thanks Julie 👍🏼 By synthetic do you mean a clay block or mitt? If so, I love using those as well! I lost one after I washed it and couldn’t find it for months. Turns it it had melted to the drum of my tumble dryer, so don’t do that 😂

    Hey Nice job on the logo! I never managed to clean mine properly even though I am using a brush. Is there also another way of removing the limescale/waterspots with some household product? Don’t feel like buying the entire bottle of chemical guys for just the logo😅

    Thanks 👍🏼 I’m not to sure for a household product. Limescale remover is acidic to remover the water marks. Vinegar is also acidic so that could possibly work. I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused 😂

    Very nice outcome! Just out of curiosity, why do you cover up the license plate rather than simply removing it? I typically remove the license plate when doing just a maintenance wash, but I especially would for a full detail.

    9/10 it isn’t that straight forward to remove the plate, as they usually have about 10 strips of tape holding it in place. Easier than trying to edit them out too and looks professional 👍🏼

    does the angle of pressure washing matter? for example, if you spray directly straight into the paint, would that risk embedding the dirt into the paint VS spraying at an angle where the dirt slides off the paint idk if that makes sense but Im just wondering

    I wouldn’t say so, providing that you have used a pre-wash as this dissolves the dirt making it safe to rinse away 👍🏼

    How long did it take for you to detail this particular car ? Also i don’t understand this terms such one step paint or 2 step paint correction. Could you explain this a bit more ?

    This was 1.5 days. So a two stage polish is essentially one stage of cutting which removes deeper defects but as a result of being aggressive often leaves behind its own hazy finish. So the second/finishing stage glorifies the paint and removes the hazy finish making it 👌🏼

    I’m not too sure, I have always avoided them. It rinsed very freely, so might not.

    One horizontal and one vertical pass for the compounding step is not working that compound as much as you can, hence why you have to go back and do it again... I'd do 3 horizontal and 3 vertical generally

    I tried more passes and it didn’t make a difference. The diminishing abrasives would have been broken down and it was starting to get sticky and dusty as over worked. The paint was rock hard which didn’t help!

    @@HarpersCarDetailing I appreciate the reply. I've not yet worked with Koch H8 but I'm really interested in their products. Scholl concepts S3 is an excellent compound that can be worked over and over without much dusting so I'd recommend that one.

    No worries. I’m really impressed with H8, it’s great. Cuts well and finishes well but this paint just wasn’t having it, which unfortunately sometimes happens. Old hard German pain ha I use Scholl s20 & S17 so S3 is worth a shot 👍🏼

    Why dont you jetwash the wheels first to get rid of the top layer surface off? Its like adding APC to the wheel arch first before pressure washing it down to get rid of any mud or dirt.

    I’ve always found that the wheel cleaner clings better to the wheels. If there was visible dirt, rather than just brake dust then I would. As you can see by all my videos you don’t need to rinse the wheel off first 👍🏼

    @@HarpersCarDetailing true. I pressure wash mine and have adopted your method to use an iron fall out at first rather than a tradition wheel cleaner. Just because it cleans better and faster first. If washing rinsing the wheel first, it does 'water' down the solution making it less effective. I'll use your idea on logo emblems as I've come across that on cars.

    For the emblems it works really well. I only know KKD acid wheel cleaner, so be careful as there are different types of acid. DON’T USE ACID ON CAR BADGES! 👍🏼

    Wheel cleaner or iron fallout first works a treat, just make sure you follow up with an iron remover if using a wheel cleaner first👍🏼

    One thing I don’t understand is using car foam to clean the tires. A degreaser is the only way to properly clean tires.

    I sprayed a degreaser on the tyre beforehand which was shown in the video. Not necessarily, as sometimes a solvent needs to be used to thoroughly clean or in some cases remove old silicone based dressings applied by dealerships. The tyres seem to be the only thing you ever comment about, Rick.

    Care to explain why? As mentioned in the video, and as discussed with the client this wasn’t aiming for perfection given that the car is a work horse. I also mentioned in the video that this would need at least another day to get close to being perfect.

    @@HarpersCarDetailing disagree. The right technique and combination of pad and polishing liquid can get you good results even with only a single stage polish, thus providing better value on jobs like this on a so called "work horse".

    I understand that, and if you look at some of my other videos you will see the results from even a single stage machine polish. You obviously have never worked on rock hard older German paint. My video this Sunday is on a Bentley and all it took was one pass with a compound to get great results. This would have taken at least 4-5 heavy passes and as I have already said there wasn’t enough time and this wasn’t the expectation of the client

    water in diesel is wery bad . you just destroy this car, there is a breather hole throu which water got into the reservoar.

    With all due respect, you are wrong. The whole is so any spilt fuel is safely drained so it doesn’t drip down the paintwork. The hole doesn’t go into the fuel, otherwise every time it rained water would go into the fuel tank. The car isn’t ruined as I have washed it 4 times since with this exact method…
