I am one of those rare gardeners that do not really have passion for dahlia flowers. I think they are beautiful but I do not grow them in my garden. Possibly because I did not have good luck growing them when I lived in zone 4, now I'm in zone 6B but I feel like there are so many gorgeous flowers you can grow that naturalize and I just do not care to buy dahlia tubers. Beautiful choices for your garden thou, I bet they will be so pretty!!

Last year I planted dahlia tubers for the first time- maybe about 50 different varieties - I went overboard and 50% rotted. BUT I learned how surprised I was to love the cactus and the waterlily varieties the most in the vase :) Bridezilla was my favorite from Swan Island here in the US. It wasn't a heavy bloomer but it felt like a treat when another bloom appeared. What a gorgeous pallet you chose for your wedding. Best wishes for great growing season!

If you know someone with a big fall hydrangea they are great to cut and do arbors or swags. I did my whole wedding from an abandoned run down buildings old outta control hydrangea bushes. Makes for a fun night out with the girls before the wedding too. Sneaky, drinky, buckets of hydrangea picking mischief.

Good taste. Nice varieties. I buy Dahlias from Fluweel ( translation : Velvet) in the Netherlands. Buy also in Germany ...and will sow mignon Dahlias these days. I love Dahlias ...so hard to choose. Dahlias in a vase don t last very long ( plus you need to refresh tge water dayly ...smelly) You have now already a lot of nice flowers ...fir your big day. But greenery ? Ornamental grasses ? ...also important... whish you all the best ...hopefully you will have an abundance of nice flowers.

Regarding your cafe au lait dahlia, your relative who is helping flower arrange will know this, but any flowers that are being stubborn you can pop some wire round the stem and through the flower base to help keep it in shape and the flower upright. My birth mother was a very talented florist. Any flowers you love you will be able to make it work. There’s plenty of tricks florists know about to get things into work such as using green thin tape over the top of vases in a grid like shape so that you can get flowers in exactly the right postion. Or making a bouquet but rather then using a vase to arrange, doing it free hand and tieing with string before potting it into water so that it has a “chocolate box effect”. It sounds like you know exactly what you want, but don’t rule anything out because you think it won’t stay in place. Your relative will be able to make it work for you 💐

All the worst places to buy from the only place to buy is halls of heddon a specialty dahlia nursery and used by exhibition growers, also a Pom dahlia is only 55mm to 83 mm what your talking about are actually decoratives and there’s no such dahlia as dinner plate it’s a large or giant. If you actually want to learn the actual classifications look on the National dahlia society isn’t of using incorrect terms
