Does Openmw launcher essentially function as a mod loader? Or should I still use nexus mods while using that? I had no idea multiplayer was made for this and need this now

Pure, distilled Morrowboomer energy, and I'm here for it. One day I'll begin wrapping my head around OpenMW, but it's hard to unlearn 20 years worth of modding habits. Man, those heady days of being 12 years old and installing vanilla Morrowind. I was always broke so it took forever to be able to play Tribunal and BM; in fact I had to borrow a friend's expansion disks from his GoTY. I only really wanted to install them because so many mods required them. Ah, good times. It threw me for a loop when Tribunal changed the loading dialogue to "Loading Area" instead of "Loading Interior/Exterior." I thought "That's an odd change to make" until I went into the Construction Kit and saw that the engine treated all of Mournhold as an interior space. Where was I? Oh yeah. Sick videos; subscribed.

Good times! I remember those days well myself. Funnily enough the smell of certain detergents reminds me of Morrowind because I guess that was just heavy in the air back when I was 12 playing this all the time. Haha. Thanks so much for the subscription! :>

This is probably the first instance where the "villain" of a title helps the community that fights against them mod the game. Dagoth Ur has achieved CHIM, and realising that his world exists inside a flat disk, a CD, rather than continue his creators original intentions, he instead helps the Nervarine improve their experience of existence by changing reality to whatever they want it to become. Dagoth Ur is no longer the "villain", rather the mentor, and returning friend of the Nervarine. Must say as someone who nerds out with the Elder Scrolls lore, this video could be accounted as lore friendly, and poetic. Gods, I love the writers of morrowind for expanding the series with their creativity. (Also for those more knowledgeable of the lore, sorry if I got some of the details incorrect. Grew up on Skyrim but got interested with the chapters that preceded it; completed Oblivion and loved it, and still playing my first playthrough for morrowind, about 35% completed, but I've read on Dagoth Ur, and the Tribunal, and CHIM lore due to curiosity)

Just look up the Morrowind Nexus for Dagothwave. You'll find no less than 4 mods that will bring it's glory to the game.

Dagoth Ur is showing some really good presentation techniques. Varying his tone, tempo and intonation, putting great emphasis where needed, moving from soft spoken to grandiose at times and throwing in small jokes to keep the listener engaged and alert.

I could listen to this without even the intention to mod the game.

I have no idea whether these Dagoth Ur videos are done by an AI or the original voice actor. My mind is so jelly.

As far as ordering plugins in Vortex, by default it uses LOOT's sorting algorithm as well as LOOT's plugin warnings if there are dirty edits. If you need to manually adjust the load order, you can create/edit the rules so that you indicate if a mod loads before or after another mod.

For Morrowind, I simply installed the code patch, Morrowind Enhanced Textures, and Accurate Attack. This is a very simple mod list I enjoy. I use accurate attack as I would rather combat not be left to a dice roll; I'd recommend this mod for those who are coming from newer Elder Scrolls games. For the code patch and enhanced textures do it manually, you can do Accurate Attack with Vortex.

Only problem with accurate attack is you're making a lot of me mechanics and items in the game redundant. I think once you understand the mechanics and see what the devs were going for you'll have a better appreciation of the way combat works. You have to level and learn to become a master of a few weapons, not be a jack of all trades like Skyrim.

I'd reccomend better balanced combat instead. It rebalances the game around your attacks being 100% probable, such as making weapon skills affect weapon damage instead of probability, which accurate attack does not.

It's amazing. You do get kinda dropped into a world and told "good luck!" But it puts the Role in roleplaying game. The player is just as lost as the character and you need to go slow and learn your first time. After your first playthrough though you can go balls to the wall and just SHATTER the game and it's continuity lol

I have yet to even play Morrowind. I grew up on skyrim cause it came out around my young preteen years, and never played Oblivion until recently, and have yet to get all the way through it. I'm sort of going backwards right now, so I'm kind of nervous about getting into something that seems so otherworldly to me, as someone who doesn't really play all too many rpgs. Let alone older ones. But I am excited to try it, and I gotta thank this guide for when I get started.

Went through the exact same order. Start with texture mods, better magic regen mod, join house Telvanni and have fun.

OpenMW also lets you play on MacOS, Linux, or even mobile (Android). Also OpenMW users don't really need a mod manager.
