Yeah those old school Daft Punk DJ sets are memories in .mp3 I remember beeing amazed by the pure creativity and quality theyr extracted from such simple samples and loops. This is creativity in it's most prime and simple shape.

if you listen carefully, you can hear the vinyl crackle in around the world. They intentionally stopped playing their mix to start around the world the way it did. :)

The main equipment was samplers and drum machines, but I'm sure theres a lot of other stuff in there as well.

@@rosspalumbo Traktor has been around for 20 years, Stanton was the first company before Native Instruments. Also cd players and special vinyl edits on acetate have been around longer... Could be only acetate edits that were made in cool edit. Also DJ loopers were already in place. Pioneer DJ equipment and Red Sound Cycloops. I still have all of my equipment. There is a type of sample playing across the first mix that is a higher rate than everything else like a 1/32 whip tin can sound, that could just be a cd in a loop. The first best Pioneer CDJs had this feature. 500 and 700S series I think

Best guess is Roland S760 EMU SP1200 maybe 2 of them Roland TR909 An Alesis 3630 and some rack effects maybe Its a very sample heavy set. Theres a lot of live versions of songs. I think all the Daft Punk songs are the actual records and the MLK speech but everything else sounds like samples with either drum loops or the 909 coming in. But one of my favorites for sure.

I mean, for someone like me who basicaly discovered House Music through Daft Punk, it was a pretty good painting of the House music basics. I mean, the sample with "it becomes OUR house music" , it's like House music is to be done with other artists in mind, like a church or a community.
