Dafen oil painting village is an integrated industry that employs thousands of painters who reproduce oil paintings from photos at very low cost.
This service was started by a private businessman from Hong Kong in 1989, but currently the local governments are funding a face lift of the village to make it look like an artists colony.
Dafen will become a must-see tourist destination when the Shenzhen subway system begins service to Dafen shortly.
